There is no longer a mythology to invoke, no ghosts of the past to recall, no flames to rekindle. What remains is a solitary duel: that between tepid music and the instinctive, pure kind that emanates from the soul and heals personal chaos.

This latter path is the one taken by David Shaw, an artist for whom there is no plan B or compromise, just the necessity to set his guts on fire with a record production that asserts itself as one of the most personal and incendiary on the current scene. 

Born in Manchester and branded by the counter-cultures that collided during his teenage years (rave, punk, garage), Shaw has taken it upon himself as his only creed to create music outside of conventional formats and beaten paths. 

We have seen him produce electronic music under the alias Siskid, play guitars, bass & keys live and studio, on the album Burn Your Own Church (Beggars, 2007) by Blackstrobe (Ivan Smagghe & Arnaud Rebotini), and collaborate with Jennifer Cardini and Vitalic. 

He went solo under the name David Shaw And The Beat, whose album So It Goes gracefully married techno and new wave, and co-founded the band DBFC (with Dombrance), creators of a gem of synthetic rock with baggy and Madchester echoes. 

A punk at heart and a music club iconoclast, David Shaw has digested his influences, distancing himself from musical cliques and the very notion of crossover. His music resonates like his persona, fueled by self-sacrifice and a fierce refusal of artistic tepidity. His strong and total aesthetic universe also captivates the fashion world, with his tracks regularly accompanying brands and designers such as Ami, Chanel, Gucci, Lanvin, Pressiat, and Solène Lescouët.

Emotional, proud, and cunning, David Shaw’s songwriting took a new turn with the 2020 release of the EP Love Songs with A Kick Vol.1 a collection of refined tracks between post-punk for alley cats, and apocalyptic crooning.

Far from resting on his laurels, the musician has let inspiration flow in the wake of this new creative milestone. Over the past three years, he has composed and recorded about forty tracks, sixteen of which are now divided into two albums: 
Love Songs with a Kick Vol. 2 and 3. 

These projects were born from a feeling of urgency, a desire to counteract the passage of time and elevate even further a double ambition:of songwriting and production. They feature what has shined in his previous works: the balance between guitars and machines, punk vigor, and catchy gimmicks. He seems to deploy even more freely his desire to pervert the pop song, taking it on diverted paths, approaching it in a liberated and almost playful manner.

Love Songs with a Kick Vol.2 initially embodies the colder and more mechanical facet of David Shaw's music. 
The cold and industrial influences stand out like never before, the structures are more direct and leave room for explosive choruses and catchy gimmicks that have become one of the musician's signatures. His voice, with tones of icy glam, plays the dominatrix then distributes caresses, and regularly gives the tracks on this album a classic feel.

Love Songs with a Kick Vol.3 explores new territory in David Shaw’s music.
Characterized by more space, the tracks that compose it play a more narrative, evolving card, sometimes even bordering on cinematography. The writing relies on suspended climates and hallucinogenic ambiences. Punk, kraut, new wave, cosmic pop are catapulted into a hypnotic dream machine. It’s Lou Reed from Transformer sent into Blade Runner, Bowie locked in an industrial club grappling with misanthropic voodoo. 
The blinding white light regularly asserts itself in the interstices of these venomous and hedonistic tracks.

Cormac (Polari/Running Back/Ostgut Ton/Correspondant)

Once a hidden gem in the dance music world, Cormac’s reputation as a respected selector has risen . Originally from the North of Ireland, he’s known for his signature mix of HI-NRG, house, techno, and nu-wave—sounds that have made him a fixture and influence on the international electronic music circuit. His acclaimed sets have been notable highlights at clubs and festivals such as Panorama Bar, Sónar, Bassiani, Glastonbury, fabric, WHOLE Festival, and beyond.

A former dancefloor regular at iconic nights like Trade, Nag Nag Nag, and Bugged Out!, Cormac has been DJing for over two decades. His marathon closing sets at Berghain’s Panorama Bar—sometimes running 11 hours or more—have become the stuff of legend, reinforcing his status as one of the scene’s most trusted selectors.

In 2021, he launched Polari Records, a label dedicated to showcasing LGBTQ+ artistry, with releases from both rising talents and established names.

Beyond the booth, Cormac has been featured on magazine covers in Germany, the U.S., and the UK, and has contributed standout mixes to BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix, Beats in Space, Resident Advisor, and DJ Mag.

In January 2024, he debuted his podcast Cormac’s Queerly Beloved, where he speaks with LGBTQIA+ artists and allies about the role music plays in their lives. As a host, he brings warmth, curiosity, and a deepening commitment to his work as a queer health advocate and queer history archivist.

Born in 1970, Babybear (aka Yannick Barbe) is a French journalist («Têtu», Radio Nova, Yagg.com…) based in Paris but music, since his teenage years, has a special place in his heart. Discovering house, techno and gay culture in the late 80's was a kind of shock: his life will never be the same. And deejaying more than a hobby. In 2006-2009, Babybear was one of the residents of «Yes Sir, I Can Boogie», the «electro-hairy» party at Les Bains (Paris)… before bears were trendy. He also played in famous parties and venues like «Beardrop», «Flash Cocotte», Wanderlust, Social Club or YOYO (Palais de Tokyo). Since 2014, he is the co-promoter and resident of MENERGY, the monthly acclaimed party which has reconciled gay shirtless club goers with house music. MENERGY has welcomed major DJs as Robert Owens, Marshall Jefferson, Terrence Parker, Quentin Harris, Honey Dijon, Dimitri From Paris, Jennifer Cardini, Honey Soundsystem, Horse Meat Disco, Alinka, Luke Solomon, Andy Butler or Mike Simonetti. Babybear's musical influences are various: house, techno, deep house and disco. Only the dancefloor energy matters.

Jackie Mayden is a London-based DJ, sound producer, resident of Frisky Radio, and the creative force behind the independent label @gedoniaofficial. With a deep-rooted passion for sound and an ear for the unexpected, he has built a reputation as an artist who constantly challenges convention while remaining true to a minimalistic and harmonious vision of music!

Alinka is the kind of DJ other DJ’s will tell you about. She has a unique power on the decks that comes from lifelong passion and time served, with a focused devotion to her first love – house music. Raised on Chicago’s vibrant house sound with toes dipped into Detroit techno, Europe’s more robust approaches to bass music and the myriad of genre’s coming from cities like Berlin, London and Paris.

Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, her early childhood included reluctantly learning the piano, her mother is a pianist, while trying to convince her parents to let her play guitar. Her exposure to Western music was limited, living in a communist country where censorship was common practice. Her family eventually immigrated to Chicago as Jewish refugees in the late ‘80s as the USSR crumbled. This was her first experience of pop music and she fell head over heels for the chart sounds of Madonna and Janet Jackson. Then came house music from local radio shows where you could frequently hear tracks by Chicago legends like Cajmere and DJ Funk, and shows like Sonic Boom helped expose underground music to the masses.

By the late ‘90s, music had taken over her life. Teenage Alinka immersed herself in the dance music scene spending her summer pulling double shifts at a local pool and moonlighting for rave promoters to build up enough cash to buy decks. After a year of skipping class to relentlessly practice her mixing skills, she began her full-time musical pursuit. Working for various club promoters, doing odd jobs passing out flyers and helping with party logistics - anything just to get into clubs underage to see her favourite DJs - all while spending hours digging for tracks at Chicago’s legendary record shop Gramaphone. In 2001 Justin Long recruited her to be the opening resident for his .Dotbleep party at Smartbar where she honed her skills for the best part of a decade.

In 2012, an impromptu meeting with former Hercules and Love Affair vocalist, Shaun J. Wright, changed her life forever. Their evolving friendship resulted in what would be the first of many musical collaborations. The pair launched their Twirl parties and label, continually strived to inspire each other both musically and spiritually, the result has been an impressive catalogue of material for both of them collaboratively and individually on the likes of The Classic Music Company, Jackathon Jams, Crosstown Rebels, Leftroom, and of course Twirl, where as well as their own material the duo have welcomed renowned artists like Spencer Parker, Virginia, LA-4A, Kim Ann Foxman, and Jason Kendig onto the label.

Recent years have seen Alinka really hit her stride as a producer with successful releases on world renown labels like Rekids, Crosstown Rebels, Need Want, Permanent Vacation, and Peggy Gou’s Gudu Records. She also turned out a standout collection of remixes for labels Me Me Me, Live At Robert Johnson, Correspondant, and Get Physical.

Now living in Berlin, Alinka has well and truly found her feet and inspiration. Alinka has used this base to throw down at parties across Europe from Berghain/Panorama Bar to Circoloco, with regular visits back to the US to play standout clubs like Smart Bar and Ukraine's famous ∄ club in Kyiv, where she stands as club’s first international resident, playing a minimum of six shows per year including a curated show.

Her evolution continues with the recent re-launch of her Twirl imprint, highlighted by the ‘Day Dreamer’, ‘Sorry For Not Trending’ and ‘Edgewater’ EPs that finely balance Alinka’s future-focused ethos, with a unmistakable, proud passion for her Chicago heritage.
