The events of 2020-21 have exposed the fragility of our global systems and the flawed foundations on which modern societies and economies are built. ‘Count the Dead’ brings attention to complex issues concerning the value of human life. The song draws attention to the social and economic injustices that plague society, and the violent health inequalities that have been further exacerbated by the global pandemic, which has now claimed more than 4 million lives worldwide.    

Continuing the themes addressed in ‘Love in the Time of Pestilence’, ‘Count the Dead’ is the second instalment of songs addressing the ongoing pandemic and global crisis. At a time when the world appears to be more divided than ever before, discourse has never been more important, and urgent.

ANTI MERIDIAN

“Secreta” — Latin for “secret” or “secrets” — takes its name and text from a lesser-known part of the traditional Roman Catholic Mass: a quiet prayer, spoken in a low voice by the priest at the end of the Offertory. On this album, the prayer becomes something more personal and disquieting — a whispered plea for one's enemies, delivered from a soul suspended between forgiveness and fragmentation.

Set to a short liturgical text drawn from the Roman Missal, the piece explores the spiritual paradox of wishing well upon those who have wounded us. That fragile state — where faith confronts betrayal — is captured in the song’s shifting musical language. An eerie orchestral introduction sets the tone, enveloping the listener in unease, before giving way to rhythms that echo the rhythmical asymmetry of Balkan dances. The unconventional time signature distorts any sense of calm, as if the soul itself is reeling.

“Secreta“ is both prayer and disorientation — a sacred ritual filtered through the lens of human vulnerability.

Hank Rusch's new single, "Laid To Waste," tells the story of a man blissfully aware that he's just another conquest in a woman's lustful pursuit. Undeterred, he is drawn like a moth to a flame, finding himself unable to resist the pull of her vortex of passion. The song is rich with references to addiction, highlighting the compulsive nature of his desire. Hank’s growly vocals sound even grittier on this track, as if there's an extra cubic yard of gravel adding raw intensity to his voice. Halena Morbida is the product of a middle age crisis. It is not about a particular genre, it's about the joy of creating music.

I use Ableton Live 11, Ibanez GIO electric guitar, Harley Benton electric bass guitar, HB acoustic guitar and acoustic bass guitar, Boss ME-80 processor, bongos, tambourine, cajon, and a bunch of different kinds of flutes.
 I am not a musician, I just fool around, while learning how to play my instruments. 
The artwork for the tracks is AI generated and the titles are chosen mostly using the method of free association.
