It is about my increasing frustration with my girlfriend at the time.

01 Caution To The Wind

From the debut 1986 cassette (yes cassette!) EP "Annoying The Neighbours" by Green Beach aka Malcolm Birtwell, Bill Allard and Dave Lewis. Our eponymous theme tune. It is actually about a French WWI graveyard I visited in 1982 called Le Linge which moved me immensely. I wrote the song in the hotel that night. It's called Green Beach after a book by James Leasor; a true story set in WWII which became the name of our band. The song is about the heroism and futility of all war and uses words that you will find inscribed on many monuments. It became our eponymous song.
