I must say, this album is by far my favorite of 2020, by far. I cannot stop listening to it. This is your best work yet, and quite honestly the best ambient music out there at the moment. You're setting the bar very high with Silencia, can't wait to see what's next!

In ancient French folklore Mélusine is a female water spirit usually depicted as a serpent or fish woman from the waist down. Except very unlike theoretically inert mermaid, Mélusine's two tails make her a siren of sexual possibility and erotic chaos in place of patriarchal order, a goddess of duality, exquisite chaos and enlightenment. 

Coming from a place of pain I considered the Seine and wondered if I use the controlled chaotic, of a process of creating sound meant to soothe by distracting me from the process of making sound to soothe even as listening to the results was only a temporary ‘yes’ of relief? Is there such a thing as 'only', ever?

Anyway, using the syntax of ambient to craft a regenerating pastoral viva new protocols, "La Chanson De Mélusine" seeks to dab a brisk but salving antiseptic on treatable wounds

'Fragments of Scattered Whispers' is the sixth album from Endless Melancholy, a solo-project of Oleksiy Sakevych from Kyiv, Ukraine. It follows previous releases on labels such as Preserved Sound, 1631 Recordings and Hidden Vibes. 

Arriving on CD, digital and heavyweight vinyl editions, 'Fragments of Scattered Whispers' is a collection of soft piano melodies and transparent ambient textures, gently flowing one into another. On this album Endless Melancholy continues with the tape sound explorations, started on his previous album 'The Vacation', but in a new, more distinctive way. On this occasion, Oleksiy teamed up with Krzysztof Sujata (known for his musical outfit Valiska), who did some outstanding job on processing the tracks through different kinds of tape recorders and mastering them afterwards. Accompanied by a stunning artwork by an acclaimed artist Gregory Euclide, 'Fragments of Scattered Whispers' is meant to evoke hazy reminiscences from the deepest corners of listener's mind, like a blurry photograph suddenly falling out of an old book.

Silencia is the latest collection of evocative and lustrous compositions by the Nashville duo Hammock. The band’s 10th LP, Silencia closes a trilogy that began with 2017’s Mysterium. It is a balm, gesturing at the healing that can ascend in silence. Slow-churning and contemplative, Silencia most prominently features strings orchestrated by Viktor Orri Árnason (Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds), mists of guitar by Hammock’s Marc Byrd and Andrew Thompson, the hushed drone of horns, and 20 elegiac voices from the Budapest Art Choir. The record was mixed and mastered by Francesco Donadello (Winged Victory for the Sullen, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Ben Frost) in Berlin.
