The soundtrack to a long-forgotten kids' TV drama serial, probably a John Wyndham or Alan Garner adaptation. It was most likely set in a rural village, into some parts of which the local kids were forbidden to go. Please feel free to make up the rest of the story as you see fit.

In From The Fields

Yesterday I was passing some audio through my MU modular synth to mess up the sound a little. Maybe 30 seconds after I'd finished recording, this sequence of two resonant notes began. It's slightly irregular and bears no resemblance to anything I was playing. I have no idea what's causing it. None. Such is the slight tinge of chaos that surrounds every modular synth.

Anyway, I thought I'd put it up here in case anyone has a use for a bit of odd serendipity from some haunted electronics. Download it freely, use it in whatever you want. I'd love to hear what you make of it, and if you release it commercially I'd be grateful for a credit, but otherwise it's yours to do what you want with.

Here's a hint of what's coming in my forthcoming radiophonic/folk soundtrack to The Dark is Rising, the classic 1973 children's novel by Susan Cooper. The album will be released on limited edition cassette by the Dark Outside in 2018, and tracks from it will be featured as part of #TheDarkIsReading, a groundbreaking large-scale Twitter book group which will be reading the book in real time starting on 20 Dec 2017.
