During the night close to a pound in the small community of Lavaderos (Desert of San Luis Potosi, Mexico), some toads and frogs are singing, happy to had some rain during the day.... after a few months very dry.

This is a DJ set that I played on a hot steamy morning in Hawaii at Garden Temple with kindred tribe of the primal Island of Pele.  Dedicated to the people of Hawaii & the people of Mexico.  This is the first mix I have released in 8 years.

..THE NAME..
An Apache revolver is a handgun which incorporates multiple other weapons, made notorious by the French underworld figures of the early 1900s known as Les Apaches.
The Apache operates on the principle of a pepperbox revolver using a pinfire cartridge and incorporates a fold-over knuckle duster forming the grip and a rudimentary foldout dual-edged knife.[3]

Due to the lack of a barrel, the revolver's effective range is very limited. Since its component parts can be folded inward towards the cylinder, it is easily concealable inside a pocket. It was common to leave an empty chamber with no cartridge under the hammer, as the weapon has no trigger guard or safety catch. The weapon cannot be aimed accurately because of its lack of front and rear sights and very short barrel. Despite its limited potential, the revolver was effective at extremely close range.[4] For reloading, the cartridge cylinder must be removed, refilled, and replaced.

A 9×19mm Parabellum revolver of similar design (but no official designation) was allegedly used by British Commandos during World War II, though exact statistics about production numbers and technical details have as yet remained undisclosed to the public.[5]

Some strange sounds from the Australian rainforest! The unique calls of Wompoo Fruit Doves, Spotted Catbirds and the sharp 'whipcracks' of Eastern Whipbirds make for an unusual soundscape. Recorded in Girringun National Park in far north Queensland. 

Other bird species heard on this track include Yellow-breasted Boatbill, Superb Fruit Dove, Grey-headed Robin & Lewin's Honeyeater.

Suseri - Behind the eclipse 2019

This is the first time I played broken beat music at an open dance floor. 

Almost a year ago at Burning Man I’ve suddenly opened up to broken beat dance music at Opulent Temple performances by Seven Lions, Keith MacKenzie, Dulce Vita, others. It makes me feel so alive. I feel it subdues my mind, brings me totally to here and now, and just makes my body move. It’s literally impossible to just listen to this music - it screams dance! 

So I wanted to share this. But on the other hand, it was very different to what my people and the festival crowd like and I thought expected. And I have a nice set of other music which they would love. For me it was a choice between doing something I felt genuine for me, and doing something great for others. I usually choose the latter. 

But at this time, I’ve chose to play the music I love, even though it was divergent. And it turned out to be a great dance for everyone.

Rafaelle is a singer & electronic artist. Rafaelle’s smooth, profound and unique voice has been influenced both by the study of vocal Jazz and Hindustani classical vocal studies in Northern India.
Her most recent Project ‘HUMAN INSTRUMENT’ debuted at la SAT in 2018 & 2019.
