Zum zehnjährigen Jubiläum des Frauen*-Proberaums im Conne Island haben wir Gudrun Gut @ggut eingeladen.
Als einst rege Nutzerin des Raumes durfte ich, Judith van Waterkant @lady-youdid, das Gespräch mit ihr führen, um gemeinsam mit dem Publikum mehr über die letzten Jahrzehnte in der Musik-Welt und genderspezifische Aspekte in dieser zu erfahren. Ich war sehr gespannt, da Gudrun in ihren verschiedenen Rollen als Künstlerin, Labelinhaberin, Produzentin, Ladenbersitzerin und und und wirklich aus unglaublich vielen Perspektiven erzählen kann.
Das Ganze fand im Saal statt, nicht weit vom Probi entfernt. Ich habe noch eine lebhafte Erinnerung daran, wie es immer so war in diesen Raum zu laufen: Zuerst muss man über die Bühne des Clubs, um einen kurzen Moment das Gefühl zu erleben, wie es denn so ist da oben - "Brush of fame yeah", dann läuft man weiter in einen schwarzen Graben hinab und hofft sich nicht die Füße zu brechen in der Dunkelheit, dann durch einen Flur voller immer wieder neuem Geraffel, dann eine wahnsinnig enge Wendeltreppe hinauf, wo man sich fast immer den Kopf stößt und der Rucksack mit den Platten drin hängen bleibt, bis hierhin war es schon ein Auf und Ab wie so viele Musik-Karrieren. Oben angekommen läuft man dann in eine Wand aus Schweißgeruch, denn hier trainieren die Boxleute, finden Yoga-Kurse statt... no offense: wenn ich Sport mache, schwitze ich auch. Aber es schlägt einem halt schon die Tränen in die Augen. Ja und dann zieht man sie auf, die schwere Tür zum Probi und läuft eine aus Holzspanplatten zusammengezimmerte Treppe mit unebenen Stufen hinab an den vielen Namen der Probinutzer*innen vorbei, die sich an der Eingangswand verewigt haben und sollte auf jeden Fall gleich das Fenster aufmachen, damit man auch Sauerstoff hier unterm Dach hat. Ja, dann ist man da: im Safe Space des Auflegens.

Zu Beginn des Gespräches klopften wir ein paar wichtige Meilensteine aus Gudruns Leben ab, wie z.B. den Einfluss ihrer Mutter und dass sie in einem frauengeprägten Haushalt groß wurde, der Umzug mit 18 aus der Lüneburger Heide nach West-Berlin, die Entdeckung des Punks, die vielen Bands wie z.B. "Einstürzende Neubauten", "Malaria!" usw.
Leider hat das Aufnahmegerät auf das akademische Viertel bestanden und die Aufnahme ging erst ca. 15 Minuten später los, weshalb dieser Mitschnitt direkt einsteigt in die zehn Quadratmeter Proberaum und der Frage warum es diese braucht.
