A client came to me about a month ago asking for help in creating a song he wanted to do for his daughter's birthday. He already had some lyrics written, some midi music recorded on garageband, etc... to use as an idea. But, he wanted something better from it. I helped him rearrange the track to be more catchy, suggested verse and lyrical additions, got rid of all but two midi instruments, added real drums, real bass, real guitar, and real piano. And, I had him re-sing his parts, get a better performance out of him, a better mix, and a better overall quality of song. I think he did really well for someone with very little musical knowledge or experience. All in all, we spent about 80 hours on this one track, deconstructing it, and then reconstructing it into what you hear now.

This is an old track I worked on in collaboration with another great musician and friend, under the name Binaural Eulogy. This track was a combination of Tape, MP3, and Minidisk recording and mixing via internet communication. On this track I played drums and bass. My cohort did all vocals, guitar work, ambience, and keyboards. We accomplished this without any real use of processing via studio grade compression or effects. Everything was done on a shoe string budget, with pretty much shoe string gear. Overall results, I'm really happy with it and how it turned out considering what we were working with.
