Reyk is passionate about (Dark) Disco and founder of the Amsterdam-based platform TANK Kollektiv as well as TANK Radio. He shares the musical love as a DJ through podcasts, small-scaled events, and (inter)national performances. His inspiration comes from a variety of genres such as: (Dark) Disco, Trance, House, and everything in-between. Currently he is also working on his first release as a producer, so stay tuned!

This month's guest mix comes from Rotterdam based artist Richelle Soigni,  well known in the underground club scene for more than 20 years. Since the early 90’s, she amassed an impressive collection of records and this passion made her into one of the faces of Clone Records.

She expanded her playing field amongst cities all over Europe but always brings the West Coast Sound of Holland with her. Richelle is an instinctive DJ who is looking for the audacious character in music and merges different genres and combines old with new. Expect the unexpected in her sets with a positive, raw melodic sound.

Sirens Podcast 013: Curses

Berlin-based Curses brings a romantic edge to the dance floor, blending 80's New Wave, the darker side of Italo-Disco and flashes of EBM with his own ghostly vocals.

The debut album from Curses, 'Romantic Fiction' dropped on Jennifer Cardini's Dischi Autunno imprint in October 2018, launching his live act which brings the guitars, vocals and energy of the album to stage as a duo. Whether it's DJng in the main room at Circoloco DC-10, or performing live at festivals like, Nuits Sonores, Curses brings punk and new wave energy to all dance floors of any size.
Curses has also released on labels such as Permanent Vacation, Bordello A Parigi, Oráculo Records, and Wrong Era, and curated a double- LP vinyl compilation (NEXT WAVE ACID PUNX) Via Belgian powerhouse, N.E.W.S, showcasing a passion for New Beat, Early EBM, Post-punk and obscure Italo which gained critical acclaim worldwide. The 2nd album, 'Incarnadine' returned to Dischi Autunno in April, 2022, with a special edition vinyl in collaboration with Parisian Fashion brand, Saint Laurent.

Curses continues to bring a romantic and punk energy to the club, threading the ethereal nostalgia of the 80s and 90s into the future of now.

Franz Scala’s sets are as diverse as the music he curates as label head of Slow Motion. Weaving smoothly between Italian Dance, Psychedelic Disco and Proto House, Franz quickly turns the dance floor into a vignette-tainted retro nostalgia rave fueled only by his music. 

Born in Italy and now a resident of Berlin for a decade Franz has his roots in noise rock and elettronica but was led by the record collectors passion into acquiring a taste for modern and not so modern dance floor music. He frequently inspires dancers in clubs all over Europe with his eclectic blend of spacey House, New Wave, Italo and Acid speckled with hints of Electro and Chicago House.

Aside from producing on his own imprint, he has releases on World Unknown, Bordello A Parigi, Bahnsteig 23, Tusk Wax, Mechatronica or Discodromo´s Cocktail d’Amore Music. Franz is link to many events around the german capital such as the monthly Wrong Era, Italian Dance Wave and Italorama night in Panorama Bar, Magic Waves or New Dance Fantasy Festival.

Beside long time collaboration with Sameheads he is regular dj at Griessmuhle and Salon zur Wilden Renate. In 2013 he joined Dimitri SoEmotional in the “Studio Luce” project.

She is a member of the Berlin-based label Wrong Era Records, a sub-label from Slow Motion Records and a dependable force within Berlin’s revered scene, which she now calls home. 

With regular slots at the formidable likes of Panorama bar, Renate, About Blank and KitKat Club, she is a strong figure within the nocturnal city and parties across the globe.

This mix is magnetically dark, sexy, full of shimmering synths. Last call and a perfect chance to catch the noir vibes 🌚 before some of us will jump into ugly sweaters and Christmas chants.
