ThrillHammer is a collaborative project inadvertently created by the late Anthony "Bubbles" Torres. After the tragic murder of Bubbles, Coltorious approached DJ/Producer Duserock about collaborating on a track that he and Bubbles were writing. This spawned the single "Bohemian Berlin Disco."

A San Francisco anthem in the making, there are remixes from a cross section of local dance music producers. The Original version by Colton and Ryan lunges forward with fury. Video and audio collagist Dtek offers up the delightful Shoplifters Remix. Gavin Hardkiss and Ryan dub out the Shoplifters version. Gavin then takes an acid direction with his late night excursion. Manny Alfarez (Monarch and The Great Northern) and Phil Rene Collis (Bachelors of Science) spawn the Sleight of Hands Remix.  

Draw your own conclusions from the song’s lyrics, but there’s certainly enough to entertain the new, the old and the fabulous from the Castro, the Tenderloin and the Marina.

Fondly remembered, Bubbles left skid marks and scandals everywhere he visited. His Facebook videos from Berlin, London, Santa Fe and festivals and nightclubs in California are testimony to his unabandoned quest for freedom. His music lives on in this release on Hardkiss Music.

Banco De Gaia - Acquiescence (Tripswitch remix)

The shift is underway. We've seen the writing on the wall, and the transformational paradigm realignment in the electronic music industry is afoot. No longer are fans content to bang their heads in hedonistic ecstasy before passing out under a car in the parking lot. Supporters of the scene want more--and they're getting it. The sacred bass and downtemple scenes are emerging from their west coast haven to spread the word from coast to coast.

And it's a European producer who has gotten the ball rolling. Since the 80's, Toby Marks has been an influential producer and label head, amassing a huge catalog of tunes and treasures. His most recent album, Apollo, breathes new life into the industry, and as such, the remixes are equally potent. Artists like GAUDI, Kaya Project, and Eat Static take their turns on Ollopa: Apollo Remixed, and the results are extraordinary.

Today, we premiere the Desert Dwellers remix of "All Sleeping." This reset button for the body and soul is a liquid trip down healing waters into a soothing pool of transfixing percussion and light, glitchy melodies. Slip away on a whisper with this translucent delight that captures the mind. It's out there. And there's no doubt the boys are going to break it out when they play Sonic Blossom in Denver, CO next week. It's too good to keep locked up.

During my travels in Mumbai last year, a Andrew Mackay from Bombay Dub Orchestra connected me with vocalist Vasuda Sharma for a tech house track I was working on. The lyrics "dheer dhariye Re Mana" are improvised during the song with "alaaps" and "Sargam" (Sa,re ga..) bascially meaning, "Have patience my dear heart." 

The idea behind the words: We get restless or disappointed when things aren't the way we'd like them to be. in times like these, one has to remind oneself to have patience because, in the end along with hard word, it's patience that pays off.

20 years ago I released Last Train to Lhasa - which makes me feel very old!

To mark the anniversary of its release, I have created a limited edition, physical only (no downloads or streams) 4 disc box set, featuring previously unheard alternative and extended ambient mixes as well as a handful of fresh remixes by like-minded artists. This will come out in June.

To kick-start the celebrations, I asked Ukraine’s soundcloud.com/astropilot and Dublin’s soundcloud.com/silinder to add some 21st Century flavour to the title track, and released them on Monday 30th March via all the mainstream download stores and streaming sites.

To mark this release, I am posting up this remix that I did myself of Lhasa. Please share the link far and wide.

The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting occurred on December 14, 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut, when 20-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot 20 children aged between 6 and 7 years old, as well as six adult staff members. It was during that time that we (Dance Spirit) were recording material for our first album when this tragedy took place so we wrote a song called “Mother, Mother” to help us cope with the tragic shock of this deplorable act.

The song was so powerful and emotional that we decided to shelve it; however, after the last year of senseless violence, both domestic and international relating to racism, politics, terrorism, and other evils of human nature we have decided to gift it to the world. We are starting by sharing the love at Burning Man this year. Music can be an incredibly healing factor when it comes to coping with the tragedies that we can go through in this world. We are dedicating this song to anyone who has lost a loved one to violence whether it has been in war, at home, or in the streets. 

Lyrically the song is written from the point of view from a child who lost his life to the violence, and it  is a gentle reminder to those of us who have to survive in this world; that no matter how ugly it can be, love is and always will be the answer. Metaphorically the bond between mother and child is the strongest form of love to ever exist in nature. It can also be a model for how we can grow to love each other and ourselves.
