Dub + Deep Techno Mix | Harknee LIVE @ Wrong! London 04/02

Dub Techno is the order of this weeks stream. I went for a slightly more uptempo dub techno style and explored what I would call the "second phase" of an opening set. The first part of an opening set would be slower in BPM, the kicks wouldn't be as punchy and there would be more emphasis on atmosphere, then the second phase ups the tempo and intensity as a nightclub starts to fill up and drinks get consumed.

Harknee is a DJ and producer exploring the intersection between techno music and the natural world.

This exploration sees him take elements of nature, from quiet birdsong to large landscapes, and incorporate them into his work, generating a contrast between repetitive rhythms and the unpredictability of the living world. His creations look to evoke the essence of the earth to create sonic landscapes, placing the listener in the midst of flora and fauna.

He runs a mix series called Biophilia, where he showcases this exploration of techno music and nature and encourages listeners to seek out the beauty of the natural world.
