Traditional swedish folk music with alot of blues influences and some ethnic singing techniques. 

It's about a moose that last winter got confused and found its way into the small swedish town of Söderhamn and up on the roof of a parking house and got so afraid that it jumped of the roof of the building and died.

We travelled to Frederick, MD on 8-20-17, to offer vocal meditations at Chua Xa Loi (Vietnamese Buddhist Temple) for the massive Le Vu Lan Festival. This is our first improvisation, held in the temple, as people came to pay respects and offer prayers.

The Hagia Sophia Cathedral in Istanbul stands as a monument to the Byzantine era. After having functioned for a period as a mosque it is now a museum... and still an acoustic temple..
The sound recordings on this video were made in an auralization developed by the Danish Odeon company, whose team of sound engineers with their equipment took the samples from the cathedral. Claus Lynge Christensen took care of the recordings of the two vocal soloists which were made in the anechoic chamber at the Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby, near Copenhagen. It is one of the largest and most advanced of its kind.

Harmonic Introductions is a small vocal ensemble dedicated to the art of overtone singing. Founded in Spring 2012, we currently hold weekly sessions in Rockville, MD using a variety of vocal exercises to teach members the techniques of overtone singing. By holding both free and structured meditative improvisations, we create a playspace for people to practice and get to know their own voice more intimately. 

One of our goals as a group is to build a community of enthusiasm and appreciation of this style of vocalization within the D.C. metro area, and play a role in the continued growth of a global network! 

This SoundCloud page is a space for us to share improvisations from workshops and sessions.
