The inception of the project Oreste goes back to 2019, initiated by the talented Gwendal Suau. His sonic voyages, released through labels like Emerald Garden and Rites, have garnered him a dedicated and discerning following within this niche musical tapestry. With our 18th Herbarium episode we present our dear @ftp_doctor. He is the person who supports this label immensely with his expertise in terms of mastering, musical advice and outrageous jokes💕
He is always exploring the limits of dance music with out-of-the-box-ideas which lead him to an interesting mixture of breakbeat, 4tothefloor and textured sound design with a slight touch of trash and ADHD.

FTP Doctor chose the plant Salvia Divinorum for his mix. Here is why:
Salvia Divinorum is a medicine and an entheogen, which is often stigmatized and/or very unknown around the globe. It is actually one of the most powerful compounds in nature that lets us interact and explore our (sub)consciousnes. To honor this truly unique gift from nature i wanted to create a tense, colourful mix that brings a lot of different styles together.

About FTP Doctor

'FTP Doctor' doesn't give a damn about genre boundaries, on the contrary, he really challenges unusual combinations. Between techno, hip-hop, house, instrumental influences and much more, nothing is left out. The mood palette of the Munich-based musician is just as diverse. In his productions you can find tracks that cover everything possible from warm, harmonic to unsatisfying and at the same time aesthetic sound colors by means of targeted sound designs. After Niklas Bühler produced techno and ambient under his previous pseudonym 'Delusional Circuits' for the label 'IO', he opens his style under a new name. He appears like a musical chameleon, taking the modern pop and internet culture for a ride with an ironic wink. Besides this project, he is also part of the Munich-based ensemble 'Lyder', which focuses on the fusion of electronic music and jazz.

Herbarium No 18 - FTP Doctor - Salvia Divinorum

"Between floating and intertwining layers of sound, balance is a subtle play of control and drift. Three sonic voices converse, shifting through the haze of effects - sometimes in harmony, sometimes unruly. At Temple, listening becomes a journey, a space where time suspends and the imagination tunes into its own frequency."

kitty soul (@kitty-soul) is a DJ, sound engineer, and producer, and the founder of the Oigovisiones Label (@oigovisiones-label), established in 2012, which specialises in ambient and experimental music. His musical style draws from genres such as noise rock, shoegaze, trip hop, jungle, and breakbeat, with a significant influence from post-rock and a conceptual approach inspired by John Cage. Using Technics and effect pedals as his main compositional tools, his sessions take on an experimental tone, designed for deep listening and the images evoked by sound. As a sound engineer, he has worked for over 15 years in the performing arts, providing sound for and collaborating with dance, theatre, and circus companies such as Ximena Carnevale (Ella, Demasiado Oscuro, Mise en Abyme), Cristina Quijera, and flamenco dancer Sergio Aranda. He has also composed pieces for audiovisual installations by artists such as Azael Ferrer (Wrapping Illusions, Kaleidescape) and Juan Carlos Tamajón (Decide, Shift).

Author's note: After more than two years without DJing, I had accumulated quite a few new records. The invitation to Temple was a great opportunity to debut them. Honestly, I didn’t expect the selection to turn out so deliberately Drone or meditative, as someone in the audience pointed out after the session, but after listening to it, I admit it’s very drone. I enjoy playing with three tracks at once, observing how they interact, and manipulating the mix with pedals, trying to maintain a balance between the artist's composition and the effects. Sometimes, it slips out of my control. This time, the set included tremolo and octave pedals, in addition to my usual reverb and delay effects.

The Bunker Podcast 205: Agonis

After a short break, we are returning with a new episode of the Harmony Rec. podcast series. Today, we have the honour to finally introduce an artist who has been on our radar for a while. 

Konduku aka Ruben Üvez is a Berlin-based DJ and producer, originally from the Netherlands. Starting his career by releasing a well-received debut LP - "Kiran," Konduku quickly got recognition among the listeners. Since then, Ruben has been a part of several impressive music projects. His work has been released on record labels such as Delsin, IDO and Idle Hands, proving Konduku as a natural talent. Producing is not the only thing that keeps Ruben busy.  His DJ CV includes a variety of prominent European clubs beginning with De School and ending with Berlin's about blank. 

The set itself describes Konduku in detail. Excellent mixing skills accompany the unique music style that we would describe as groovy and organic. The transition from summer to autumn is often uneven. Still, we believe that Konduku's set will make it softer for you. Enjoy.

We are passionately distributing vibration both on the dance floor and while pressing music on records, however, what we appreciate the most is the community that gathered around us over time. Without our friends and cooperating artists, it would be rather difficult to identify any spirit of the organisation.
