Born out of the seminal UK rave scene of the ‘90s, Killed Kassette is an artist with an impressive story to tell. A pioneer of house music with a remarkable resume, composed of associations with some of the biggest artists and labels in the evolution of the genre (inc. remixes for Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson, Chez Damier, Roland Clark and Paul Oakenfold's illustrious Perfecto Records imprint).

Once a member of a largely successful production duo, he made the break as a solo artist in 2013 and hasn’t looked back. Falling firmly on his feet, he quickly garnered the attention of none other than Kevin Saunderson’s iconic KMS Records imprint. That foot in the door and endorsement from one of house music’s most-respected outfits naturally led to breaking the scene and an ever-growing presence in the electronic music world.

Killed Kasste’s sonic palette is inspired by the underground music scene; a spectrum of flavours from rave and breakbeat through to old school techno, piano house and filtered disco. The many production methods and influential sounds used by such artists are an impactive factor on Killed Kassette’s output, as much is evident in his standout production signature.

His journey through the ever-changing world of house music has inspired releases on a variety of much-appreciated imprints. Signing music to the likes of KMS, Armada Music, Lapsus, Kittball, Roush, Simma Black and more have seen his creations championed by a plethora of industry heavyweights including Fatboy Slim, Roger Sanchez, Sasha, Maya Jane Coles, Groove Armada and Claude VonStroke, and even seen him hit global airwaves courtesy of airtime on the famed BBC Radio 1.

Killed Kassette’s exposure to clubland is just as impressive as his release catalogue. He has had the pleasure of featuring at the likes of T in the Park, We Are FSTVL events, Ministry of Sound, XOYO, Egg London, Snowboxx and more. Earning a spot with such reputable brands has seen him support artists like Joris Voorn, Riva Starr, Paul Woolford, Nic Fanciulli, Joey Negro, Basement Jaxx, Kerri Chandler, David Morales and a whole host of other major players

Dan started his venture into the dance scene in the summer of 2000. His friends took him to Brighton and to his first ever club night. The night was Bedrock and the Dj John Digweed, needless to say he was hooked!

Pretty soon he took up the decks and was on a mission to develop his unique sound. Six months later he put on his first gig with a few friends in tow, the night was great fun and inspired Dan to do more. Six months after that he threw his first Club night Local People, by 10:30pm the club was at capacity and a resounding success.

Later on that year Mezzé was born a unique night which saw Dan warm up for the likes of Nils Hess, Nathan Coles and Terry Francis as well as being a headline act himself. After 18 months as a resident Dan again stepped up his game with a warm up set for Craig Richards of Tyrant fame on a 19th century fort in the middle of the sea for the infamous Invaders party, which was critically acclaimed.

In 2008 Dan became the summer resident at the biggest club in Tenerife, Tramps. Playing 6 nights a week in the back room alongside big nights and names like Gatecrasher, Hed Kandi, Judge Jules, John Kelly Jeremy Healy.

Since coming back to London in 2009 Dan has again set up a new weekly event HEADSPACE, located at the renowned 93 Feet East on Brick Lane, at which he is a resident. HEADSPACE is a free Saturday daytime party and has received a great response which has led to gigs at The Egg and for Lunar @ Mango in Reading.

In the last few months Dan has accepted a weekly radio show on Totaljam.co.uk playing every Monday 8pm-10pm.
