Strobe Horizons

A few weeks ago, sonars  ghost came over to mine to help me make a jungle track. I came up with the samples I wanted and how I wanted it to sound keeping that original jungle sound alive.
 I listened to his tips he had, to gain more knowledge in Jungle production. This is what I ended up making. Hope you guys enjoy it and follow if you want to hear some more of my jungle productions.

Splendor & Squalour number 3 see’s Brame & Hamo return to their rising imprint. Since the boy’s Ep “Lamaj’s Secrets” on Dirt Crew we have seen them do a string of remixes for labels such as Kolor Ltd, Heist & their very successful remix for Harry Wolfman and Loz Goddard’s “Uncle Buck” on Dirt Crew. All these releases have kept a steady momentum going for the Sligo boys in the house Scene. 

For this ep we have a full 3 tracker consisting of all original cuts. The EP kicks off with “Kebab Dreams” which takes us on a trip to the moon with greasy drums and saucy groove. Up next is the MPC workout “Cert City” paying homage to their hometown of Sligo. Closing the Ep we have “Retch Wretchedness” which takes a darker turn showing us the spookier side of Brame & Hamo while still keeping the jazzy touch. A peak time track for sure.

Born in Bristol in 2013 and getting it right ever since, label and party collective Banoffee Pies proudly present BPLS003: release no. 3 in their 'Limited Series' and their twelfth vinyl release across the board.

With little interest in convention, Banoffee Pies are known for their eclectic repertoire – with a variety of genres and styles covered extensively in both the music they release and the records spun at their events. This record is a labour of that exact love; an end-product of several late-night excursions spent perusing SoundCloud to find a new school of bedroom producers deserving of the Banoffee title.

Electronic enigma Tell delivers a fresh-out-the-kitchen medley of beats on the opening track and our EP highlight, "In Suspension". A smooth mixture of house rhythm and bongo drums with a generous sprinkle of samples, guaranteed to soothe post-vacation blues. Making up just one segment of a five-part-strong release of pure downtempo delight.

Angst and concern laced the air, it was as if they had never met. All he had ever asked was that she remained faithful and true, not distant and blue. Now as they stood holding hands silently amidst the city street it was a distant sense of unease which hung between them, not love. Mistrust was a brutal endeavour and there was little left to reconcile the situation. As they parted ways he began to wonder if they might ever meet again the night was cold.

UK producer Laurence Guy lands on Mule Musiq for the first time with his 'All I See Is Her' EP, featuring the jazzy and soulful house ballad 'Then Again, Maybe Not'.

Following his acclaimed album and various releases on labels like Church, Cin Cin and Rose Records, Laurence Guy is building up his already stacked catalogue by gracing the influential Japanese label Mule Musiq. His new material delivers on the infectious rhythms, dreamy soundscapes and warm melodies he's become known for with his distinctly intricate sound profile.

Harvey Sutherland, the Melbourne-born record producer, keyboard player, club DJ and bandleader, made a name amongst his hometown’s electronic underground with a string of cult dance singles. Early 12-inches like ‘Bermuda’ and ‘Priestess’ were records in love with classic soul and disco, but his debut album ‘Boy’ was guided by his obsessional traits and habits, ending up in a place he describes as “Neurotic Funk”. 

Boy has seen widespread acclaim since its release, with Resident Advisor noting “[his] sense of musicality has always been head and shoulders above his peers...his songs are full-blooded and fleshed-out…” His latest material is an exercise in techno minimalism — laser-focused club jams like ‘Hummingbird’ and ‘Nobody Like U’ set the stage for Harvey’s next chapter. 

His machine grooves are fired through a prism of crate-digging influences, from Todd Rundgren to Basic Channel and back again. His distinctive synthesiser tones have graced remixes and production for Disclosure, Khruangbin, Genesis Owusu and BadBadNotGood. A seasoned performer, he’s taken his live band to Glastonbury, dragged his Juno-60 into Berghain and turned the Melbourne Recital Centre into a full-fledged nightclub. Eclectic and groovy, Harvey Sutherland is Neurotic Funk.
