Her songs draw on her experiences and a musical influences from Julian Cope to English folk.  She is a multi-instrumentalist who has performed across the UK and Ireland and as half of the duo Lazibyrd won the South West Music Awards Best Folk Act. Her songs have been shortlisted in competitions, she has recorded a session for Bob Harris, she was invited to take part in a BBC Introducing folk residential and has had a track included on the BBC Introducing Mixtape on BBC Radio 6 Music. Glasgow electro-rock outfit Union of Knives will make a very welcome return in 2024 with the release of their new album Start From The Endless on 19 March, the follow up to 2021’s Endless From The Start.

This shift in artistic tone is brilliantly highlighted by the lead single Salut Salut, due out on 20 February.

Mima Merrow is an Irish singer-songwriter based in Glasgow. 

Merrow’s sound is a unique blend of alternative folk characterised by longing, sudden changes in direction and melodies that ache.  Fascinated by the relationship between our environments and bodies, her thoughtful lyricism is held together by intimacy, honesty and stories to challenge her listeners. 

Her debut EP Good Grief, released in 2020, was met with positive critical response:
