Words of Chaos

Sal flowers bloom and fall. What does the distant temple bell tell the people of this world?

沙羅の花が咲き、散る。遠くでなる寺の鐘は現世の人々に何を告げるのか。

沙羅

In the providence of nature, disharmony creates harmony. I think it is difficult to feel a natural harmony in the music that is played as a common understanding of the correct answer that has been completely agreed upon. And I feel boring such music. This music is completely improvised with the aim of harmonizing by making intentional but spontaneous deviations. The goal is just a harmony.

自然の摂理においては、不調和が調和を生み出す。完全に申し合わせた正解を、共通認識として奏でている音楽に自然な調和を感じることは難しいように思う。そして今の私にはつまらなく感じてしまう。この音楽は、予定的に意識的にしかし自然発生的なずれを作り、調和を目指した完全即興である。目的はあくまでも調和である。

予定的不調和

秋の林の隅っこに、時折小さな風の渦が舞うことがあります。どこから運ばれてきたのか、ちいさな葉っぱがその風の周りを踊りながらくるくると輝いています。そんな風景を見ると、自然と気持ちは軽くなり、体の中に音楽が響きわたります。作曲はこういう時にできたりするものです。
つむじ風の奏法は、右手と左手を交差させて演奏します。


Sometimes a small whirlpool of wind dances in the corner of the autumn forest. The small leaves dance around the wind and shine, wondering where they came from. When I look at such scenery, I feel naturally lighter and the music reverberates through my body. Composing music is something that happens at times like these.
The whirlpool style is played by crossing the right and left hands.
