Over the years we made quite some edits, cuts and rearrangements to make certain tracks more suitable for certain moments or sets. We decided to give a few of these away from time to time.

Hatchett’s name and photos may appear on the sleeves of his records like Dance Crazy, Jazz Power, or Vop Style, but he is nowhere to be found in the music contained within. Instead, these albums dating back to 1974 were recorded by studio players under the guidance of musical director Don Tipton or arranger Zane Mark. The original Rain Forest track is written by Paul Hardcastle but is released a year later than Frank Hatchett’s version on Vop Style in 1984. Whosampled.com indication that Paul Hardcastle ‘sampled’ Frank Hatchett is thus wrong. The track clocks in at a brisk 2:43 so it’s a welcome extension to the original. Enjoy.
