PREMIERE – Man Power – Severin (Throne of Blood)

Amsterdam's LOVE APE joins us for our eighth release, bringing his organic and melodic production to the Sawah Indah EP. Inspired by a visit to Bali, the tropical atmosphere infects each track with a warmth and depth, showcasing the producer's talent for creating a mood that's both languid and energised. 'Beachnap' could be a lost DFC Records classic, channeling the famous Italian label's best dreamy house moments with a track that is pure modern balearica. Breathy vocals and organic melodies kiss together as heavenly rhodes keys lead the dance. 'Dance Of The Apes' chugs into late night territory; with intoxicating swirling synths, ethnic percussion and a steamy ambience that drives the tension up. 'Ricefields' is a deeper, contemplative jam again rich in atmosphere. Joe Morris chills the mood out further on 'Beachnap', slowing the tempo while sprinkling a touch of acid for a mellow remix to complement the deep red sun as it dips behind a sparkling horizon. Gold Suite completes the Indonesian connection, the Bali based artist turns out a superlative reworking of 'Dance With The Apes'. With great musicality and structure, additional guitars and strings are brought to the fore making for an emotive and joyful finish to the release.

Oslo label badabing diskos kicks off with a massive dance floor treat from legendary Norwegian producer diskJokke.

Known since 2008 for his international escapades with Prins Thomas's Full Pupp and the Smalltown Supersounds label, diskJokke has also played everywhere from Panoramabar Berlin to Space Ibiza and Liquid Room Tokyo. He has put out three superb long players, remixed indie acts such as Metronomy and The XX and now, after acquiring his Masters in Mathematics, he is back. He has a complex, weird and wonderful take on melodic and cinematic sounds, as proven by this terrific two-tracker.

Opener 'A Little TnT' wastes no time in locking you in on a wave of retro-future synth work while a squelchy bassline twists and turns below. It's an expansive and widescreen sound packed with the sort of melody that makes Scandi-disco so appealing.

The fantastic '90s' then takes you on a magical trip to the edge of the cosmos, with enchanting synth lines and buoyant drums all building to a crescendo. The mood then flips to acid-tinged disco house with warped lines and late-night menace, making for a truly adventurous track.

This is a terrific first EP from what is sure to be an essential new label.

The EP is composed of two original songs by Umvral (Addi de la Cruz) and three remixes made by: Aleito, Cu Da Curuxa and Parallel.

'Viva la trance' is in the frenzy of a fight for survival, composed from start to finish with trance music clichés and trying to never stop, that is, never slow down the beat and mixing different synthesizer sound on each moment.

'Veneno para las hadas' is a track inspired by the 1986 Mexican film of the same title specifically when narrating how the 'poison for the fairies' is elaborated by their natural enemies: the witches.

This EP captures how artist imagine the secondary effects of beign poisoned by the witches, undoubtedly a rush of pain, but accompanied by hallucinations and funny moments to make death more enjoyable.

Umvral is Addi de la Cruz, a dj and producer from Mexico City. Passionate about music since childhood, he has dedicated himself to collecting songs from all over the world, from the underground to the mainstream. This led him to be the main piece behind Veneno, where he serves as A&R and curator of the label's series of mixtapes. His productions and remixes range from Indie Dance, Downtempo, Techno, Acid, Break beats and Trance.

Mexico is such a strong reference when it comes to high-quality underground electronic music. Kyma Komplex (@kymakomplex), who began his journey last January with a thunderous single, with Corresponsal & Veltrán, the owner of the label.

For the second release, the promising label brings Sixtoagusto (@sixtoagusto) back with his new material “No Va Parar”, an EP that consists of 4 original tracks, one of them accompanied by a featuring with Montjoie.

This EP, like the label, leaves nothing to the wayside and confirms the mission that electronic music always had: play with the present and advance into the unknown, beyond entertainment.

The genre re-defining chameleons of Hard Ton (@hardton) are back on Schrödinger’s Box (@sboxdj) with their own brand of style splitting acid house disco. Bigger is Better, a double EP album, has all the depravity and drama you would expect from these disruptors. “Waking Up The House” melts claps, cowbells and vocals over a molten melody. Bold stabbing keys are central to “The Right Thing”, lyrics spiralling skyward as a bitter acid line pulls the track down into the sweaty pit of the club. That TB303 goes into overdrive for the wonderfully demonic hedonism of “Bypass My Love.” Two-stepping jack is given a voice thanks to the breathy words of Josh Caffe as fanfare rains. The understated “Let Yourself Go” is a distant cousin of the bawdy and brutish “I Know A Bitch”, the heavy bass and cutting samples of the finale recalling the basement bruisers of Chicago.
