DUBNOISE – A Pillar of Barcelona's Club Scene

DUBNOISE is considered one of the central figures in Barcelona's vibrant club scene. His career began as a resident DJ in some of the city's most dazzling lounges, including the legendary Otto Zutz in Sitges and Lokotron Bcn. There, he captivated audiences with his electrifying sets and unique productions.

His music and talent have earned him recognition from renowned artists in the electronic music scene, including Moodymanc, Marco Carola, Richie Hawtin, Danny Tenaglia, Paco Osuna, Horatio, Seamus Haji, Darren House (X-Press 2), Someone Else, David Labeij, Alexi Delano, Ekkohaus, and many others. This support is a testament to his artistic quality and ability to mesmerize audiences.

Thanks to his outstanding sets, DUBNOISE has had the opportunity to perform in some of Europe's most significant cities. His tours have taken him to Barcelona, Ibiza, Paris, Padua, Bologna, Verona, Zurich, Lausanne, London, and Moscow, among others. Welcome to the seventh show of A Darker Wave Extra, our brand new format of occasional shows presented by Jacki-E & P-Mac, with a one hour mix by the show's presenters in the first half featuring the latest and best of the new techno releases and a guest mix by leading underground Techno DJs in the second.

In our mix in the first hour there’s new releases and promos from Space 92 & Charles D, Charlotte de Witte, Adam Beyer, Mari Ferrari, Annie Hill and lots more.

The guest mix in the 2nd hr is by Tobi Tobermann, a DJ / Producer from Frankfurt-am-Main in Germany. He first became interested in techno in the 1990’s. His influences include Sven Väth, Emmanuel Top & Chris Liebing. His sound has also been shaped by the DJs who played at the legendary club U60311 in Frankfurt-am-Main. After some years away from the scene he has been actively back on the decks since 2020. He makes tracks in collaboration with Denis Nocken and they have published a track every month since April 2024. Their latest track “Disconnection” is included in the mix you’re about to hear and every track in the mix is by Dennis & Tobi.

BACKGROUND Hegstraction grew up in the 80s & 90s heavily influenced by the emergent electronic music in Amiga, Nintendo & PlayStation video games & the movie soundtracks by electronic music pioneers Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis & Kraftwerk. Recent influences from German techno DJ/producers Felix Krocher & Stephan Bodzin.

INSPIRATION His inspiration differs from most artists as it comes from the dance floor where he is most at home. From over 20 years experiencing DJ sets worldwide throughout Europe, Asia, South & North America, his ideas have been shaped.

METHODOLOGY He approaches each track as a mini set, building up slowly, using level changes, sounds that stimulate & energize, following Skeletalism (using closely related sounds) & Massification (layering sounds over time) methods.
