El productor y artista visual británico Hegstraction desata todo su pulso rave con “Gravity Drive”, un single de techno peak–time inspirado en el mítico sistema de sonido Gravity Drive de Chinastraat (Gante). Publicado el 6 de junio de 2025 por el sello Bad Haz Techno, el corte convierte la pista en una cabina de nave espacial: bombos musculosos, percusión hipnótica y una narrativa sci-fi guiada por la voz computerizada que anuncia—“Gravity Drive initiated… engaged… exceeded”.

A nivel sonoro, “Gravity Drive” combina minimalismo percusivo, sutiles destellos melódicos y una presión industrial que no afloja durante sus seis minutos. Es la evolución natural tras el éxito de “Dark & Dirty Beats”, pinchado por Joris Voorn en Awakenings, y reafirma la fascinación de Hegstraction por los paisajes retro-futuristas heredados de Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream o Kraftwerk, filtrados por la sensibilidad contemporánea de nombres como Felix Kröcher y Stephan Bodzin.

BACKGROUND Hegstraction grew up in the 80s & 90s heavily influenced by the emergent electronic music in Amiga, Nintendo & PlayStation video games & the movie soundtracks by electronic music pioneers Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis & Kraftwerk. Recent influences from German techno DJ/producers Felix Krocher & Stephan Bodzin.

INSPIRATION His inspiration differs from most artists as it comes from the dance floor where he is most at home. From over 20 years experiencing DJ sets worldwide throughout Europe, Asia, South & North America, his ideas have been shaped.

METHODOLOGY He approaches each track as a mini set, building up slowly, using level changes, sounds that stimulate & energize, following Skeletalism (using closely related sounds) & Massification (layering sounds over time) methods.
