I had to have an operation on my left hand, which has meant I haven't been able to play guitar for a couple of months now. 

Anyway, it's on the mend although I still don't have much feeling in my little finger and the side of my hand, but it's getting better, so my guitar is coming home, not fast enough, but my baby's coming home.

I've been away a few weeks. My sainted mother passed unexpectedly over the winter break and in her final notes she'd requested that I play this song at her memorial.  
There's really no way I could've made it through to the end of the service playing live, so I recorded this arrangement and it was played during the memorial.   

I snagged the isolated vocal track from the original recording and then added the sitar, keys, bass and 7 or 8 guitar tracks, mix, production etc..

It turned out ok I think.  This is not a cover I'd typically do, but seeing how it was the most special of requests, I was honored to do it.  I'm looking forward to getting back into things - listening and writing etc...  Hope you can enjoy this Beatles cover

This song is about a drifter who roles into ghost town where he sees shadows silhouette of people from a long time ago. He thinks that they are real and experiences an evening of southern hospitality that includes a bottle of bourbon whisky. It's when he wakes up in the morning that he thinks if it was all in his head....Were they just visions he had in that ghost town. The deeper meaning to the song is that we live in a world we think is real, formed by our experiences and influenced by the environment. However, there may come a time when we wake up to the reality as it really is. Life is formed around ghosts and sillouettes who can influence our behaviour. As Marcus Aurelius once words are opinions not facts....or in the modern era....wake up and taste the coffee.
