Just north of San Francisco, in Muir Woods National Monument is a grove of redwoods named Cathedral Grove. These are the tallest and oldest trees in the park. I saw them once a long time ago and I'm still awed by the memory of them.

For this piece I used BBCSO Core and Epic Choir from Spitfire Audio, and the Pianobook sample pack "Neanderthal Pipe Organ" by Daniel Werner.

I brought a Modular Synth loaded with recordings I did in my studio and a selection of Ambient Tracks which I sampled and manipulated live and layered with modular effects and sounds from the Expressive E Osmose.

"A Small Vacation..." - Beach Mix (ABD '24)

A Prayer for Peace is a meditative track that guides you into a deep state of relaxation, harmony and balance. 

It is the perfect invocation for yoga, meditation, and healing sessions because it calls for collective growth, harmony in relationships, and peace within and around us.

This Shanti mantra invites us to dissolve the boundaries between ourselves and others, letting go of division, fear, and conflict. A soothing reminder that true peace comes from within and extends outwards.

Live-Performance "Fanum pro Fanum" @ Ulrichsbasilika Augsburg 2012 in der "Langen Nacht der Kirchen".

"Fanum Pro Fanum - Elektronische Klang-Einkehr mit Stadtgeräuschen / Field Recording Konzert)

Die Muttergottes-Kapelle in der Ulrichsbasilika ist erfüllt mit Klängen aus der Stadt - Straßenbahngeräusche, Stimmen vom Stadtmarkt, Krähengeschrei - aber auch mit jenen Klängen, die sonst die Stille des Kircheninnenraums prägen: hallende Schritte, das Öffnen und Schließen der Kirchentür. 

Mit Sampler, Loopstation, Klangobjekten und Orgel erzeugt Schmidt in einer Live-Performance eine Klangsuite, die das „Innen“ des Sakralraums das „Außen“ des umtriebigen Stadtlebens umfangen lässt. Der Titel „Fanum pro fanum“ spielt mit der ursprünglichen Bedeutung des Begriffes „Profan“: Er kommt vom Lateinischen „pro fanum“ - „vor dem heiligen Bezirk, außerhalb des Tempels“.
