The Looking Glass

I had such a fun time chatting with the multi talented Darryl Anka a producer, director writer and channel for a highly evolved Extraterrestrial being, living in another dimension, called Bashar.

Darryl has been channeling Bashar for around 33 years and is a master of transformation, with the exalted wisdom he brings through and the films he produces through Zia Films. We touch on Darryl's life, which is covered in his Film First Contact, coming out in October 2016. We chat about the film, what to expect, and other transformational films he has in the pipeline. This is a wonderful conversation for the awakening soul who is coming into their own true essence and remembering their intuitive abilities. ENJOY!!

"Many people apparently don’t trust their reactions to art or to music unless there is a verbal explanation for it. In music, the only thing that matters is whether you feel it or not. You can’t intellectualize music; to reduce it analytically often is to reduce it to nothing very important. It is only in terms of emotional response that I can judge whether what we are doing is successful or not. If you are touched in some way, then you are in with me."

The songs on this recording represent an audio diary of a few moments in time. No musical parts were pre-planned and everything was improvised and recorded on the spot. The vibe of each song was determined beforehand to give a slight direction to the improvisation however.

Other than the interludes, the guitar parts were recorded and layered first. The drum tracks were added and edited along the way - many times at the end of the song's recording. Freedom in simplicity. 

No keyboards were used on this recording except for on a couple minor parts in the last song, "After the Fall We Rise Above". All the other keyboard-like sounds were created on the guitar. Shoegaze in full effect.
