It's perhaps fitting that as we move into the darker, colder month's away from summers now distant memory that Steve Miller with his Afterlife project drifts away from the languid sunset tinged groovers we know him for into more late night heads down territory. There are certainly Detroit touches all thoughout the 'Resistance' EP' with it's machine funk throb and laser guided percussive elements. Welcoming Sean Johnston's Hardway Bros. outfit to the EP, it's Sean's mixes in particular that channel the Motor City, with echoes of Derrick May inhabiting both the 'Transmat' dub and the remix. Absolutely solid gold gear here all round. When can we dance again?
