New York based Italian producer Luigi Sambuy graces us with his long awaited release ‘Gemini EP’, named after the two iconic 1960s space shuttles that were sent into space concurrently. For Luigi Sambuy, this EP represents an ascension into deeper space, exploring sounds that are different from his previous releases on Anjunadeep and Mechanical.

We are also very proud to have teamed up with artist Alaia De Santis, who brought the essence of this EP to life in the cover artwork.

The two tracks on this EP are very diverse in style and purpose.
First up is Gemini 6, evocative of an ancient distant sound, brought into the future through an amalgamation of breakbeats and synth waves. This track features a rare Partos Trocados vocal sample.
Gemini 7 is a deep and dreamy house track, which gently evolves over time bringing our mind to a peaceful state of ecstasy.

Following the two originals we have a series of remixes, each with its own unique style. The first two, coming from Italian producers.

Etna reworks Gemini 6, giving it his own tribal deep twist, adding melodic strings that give us a sense of timelessness and journey.

Next up is Danilo Braca, one of Italy’s finest exports on the underground Brooklyn scene. His remix of Gemini 6 is quite hard to pinpoint to a genre. Comprised of spatial sounds, acid notes and a thrilling guitar riff performed live by Alvise Marino, Danilo’s remix ventures back and forth from space and the wild west.

Finally we have one of Britain’s most exciting young acts, Dharma, adding his signature electronic sound on Gemini 7. A faster pace and new exciting elements, give us an exciting dance floor trippy moment.

01 - Whodamanny - Baila Chica! (Vocal)

The newest single from Whodamanny’s Biloba sublabel of Periodica Records is “Volveràn,” a dark and delirious saxophonic strut given four different variations. In the Club version, gang vocals chant to the sky, pads hover like neon mist, and technoid synths twinkle through moonlit boulevards as basslines clad in black leather stomp over a futuristic disco dance. The Radio mix distills these characteristics into sorcerous display of pop songcraft, whereas the Dub goes elsewhere, omitting the sax completely in favor of delayed drum dynamics, cosmic chords climaxes, sunbaked guitar jangles, and vocals shrouded in a hallucinatory haze. And in a bold display of disco house minimalism, the Sax Only cut strips down to saxophone, bass, and drums, with accents of guitar and synth providing subtle pops of color. BLB103 • Whodamanny feat. Sandy Nuni - "Volverán"

In making his long awaited return to Periodica, Milord steps away from the mysterious electro and new age mysticisms of past releases, and instead delivers the freaked out boogie funk free-for-alls, brain-bending disco dubs, and summertime pop perfections of ‘Party Line’. The club mix is an extended excursion through hypnotizing and ever-evolving club psychedelia, with wild phonecall detritus accenting a riffing and body-rocking banger led by svelte lyricisms, energized chants, and future gazing vocoder treatments. Elsewhere, the dub is a building body bomb of Afro-tribal grooves, techno bass, echoing cascades of drum fx, and pianos soaked in interstellar aether. And for the ultra infectious radio mix, touches of Kraftwerk meet sunshine pop jam band as a molten bubblegum bass guitar bounces on an earworm drum groove, while all around, vocals soar and six-strings jangle through solar-soaked licks.

PRD1025 • Milord - "Party Line"

The Vendetta Suite is back to light up the early part of 2025 with a brilliant brace of singles on Hell Yeah. Kicking things off is a glorious acid house/disco thriller backed by a soothing out of body escape.

We’ve often referred to The Vendetta Suite as Belfast’s best kept secret, but with the quality music he keeps releasing he is rightly picking up ever more of a profile. The Hell Yeah regular has long been a key part of his native Northern Irish scene thanks to the way he mixes genres; ambient, post-rave Balearic, dub and acid house all in the mix with his own unique psychedelic magic.

First up is ‘The Jam Answer’, which taps into plenty of classic sounds but reinvents them for modern dancefloors. Bendy acid lines weave in between the dusty analogue drums, familiar acid house vocal samples and fizzing chord stabs bring the heat before a cosmic synth lead sings out with sunny soul.  ‘Island Hill Microdot’ channels dreamy Chicago house, the futuristic styles of IDM with the blissed out warmth of Balearic. Carried along with gentle percussion, it’s an immersive soundscape that makes for the perfect tropical distraction.

Two very different but equally effective cuts from The Vendetta Suite.

Robert Keith McFerrin Jr. is an American jazz vocalist. He is known for his vocal techniques, such as singing fluidly but with quick and considerable jumps in pitch—for example, sustaining a melody while also rapidly alternating with arpeggios and harmonies—as well as scat singing, polyphonic overtone singing, and improvisational vocal percussion. He is widely known for performing and recording regularly as an unaccompanied solo vocal artist. He has frequently collaborated with other artists from both the jazz and classical scenes. Since 1982 he has released more than 25 albums and faced several chart hits. "Circlesong 6" is an amazing vocal track taken from his superb album "CIRCLESONGS" released back in 1997. A timeless piece of emotional beauty transformed into a Downtempo/Electronica heaven by Kútus.
