The Fog Of Sound.
The fog clings to empty fields, enveloping the landscape in a humming silence. A lone figure roams, holding an old camera and a tape recorder. With each step, they trace the lines of a forgotten town, where crumbling walls and loose doors sway in the faintest breeze. The camera captures it all—the marks of time and decay. Each grain on the film tells a story of resilience, pressed into the shadows and dust.

As the recorder clicks on, it gathers the remaining sounds: the creak of old wood, the wind whispering through cracked windows, and the echoes of distant memories caught in the rustle of dry leaves. These are the faint rhythms of endurance, of lives once present but now hidden in the vibrations of things left behind.

When night falls, they listen back, layering the sounds into a rough, broken symphony. Each hiss and crackle, each grainy note speaks of persistence, pulsing like a heartbeat. The imperfect harmony carries a warmth that refuses to vanish, a resonance that lingers even in the cold.

Hope resides in this tapestry of sonic grain and shadowed light—not as a bright promise but as a quiet, stubborn force. It lives in the textures of analogue, in the hiss and hum that remind us there is beauty in what remains, even as the world fades.

Bio/
Born in Athens, Kostas Staikos (aka Substak) began producing in 2011 to escape a bit from real life. To this day, he has released music on various labels, and this journey will continue. No words, no rules; let the music speak.

My next guest for MLD is Marie Claire Marshall who recently crossed my way through...actually can't remember exactly how it came to this interesting chat via social media. 
Since then we are in a kind contact and it was clear I would ask Claire for a guestmix for my mld channel. 

Straddling the worlds of sound design, academic historico-musicology, and electronic music has given Claire a unique perspective on sound manipulation and curation. 

Claire has been showcasing composition work and DJing to audiences in Europe and North America for over 25 years. By combining influences from socially interesting cities into electronic work, the result is a varied and texturally rich interpretation of the world around us. Recently work has also been influenced by other alternative and leftfield producers to create an eclectic repertoire of both electronic and acoustic arrangements for installations, museums & multi-sensory projects.

Claire is able to weave a unique sonic aesthetic; blending edits, textures and cerebral  with ease and fluidity.
Having been drawn to the historio-musicological and cultural importance of the legacies of Detroit and Chicago, her work is heavily influenced by the diversity of pioneering sounds reflected in their political and cultural roots. 

Claire's production work is in collaboration with Andrew Byrne, and together, they are Magnetik Source: Defying genres through electronic music"
