Some produce greenhouse gases and promote warming of our planet through the greenhouse effect, while others reduce the amount of greenhouse gases promoting cooling of our planet. Thereby, by trapping heat, greenhouse gases contribute to our planet's warming and the biosphere provides the necessary environmental conditions for survival. And of course, Biosphere is the moniker of one Geir Janssen, who has been a constant influence on ambient music throughout his career. Elements in the mix both have ethereal space along warm woven textures. An architectural, structural, and musical soothing journey. Artificial intelligence, a sublabel of Warp.

The best of Warp records and ambient-techno from 1991 to 1998. In 1992, Warp records released the highly influential compilation Artificial intelligence that was 25 years ago. I made this mix of my favorite Warp tracks but also some other tracks released on similar influential labels at the same time such as GPR (General production recordings), Rising high records and Apollo. 1991 to 1995 was for me the best era of electronic music. Enjoy!

Artificial intelligence

Imagining the journey of a Blade runner, a skin job, in Los Angeles circa 2019 and using Vangelis covers and mainly tracks inspired by the soundtrack, I created an imaginary journey of Rick Deckard strolliing in LA 2019. Sound bytes from the sectors of Blade runner, tracks and samples from the movie were used. It’s a trip into the words of the LAPD, Bryant, Gaff, Deckard, Dick’s universe, product placement and obviously, an hommage to Vangelis…All those moments will hopefully not be lost in time...

In ancient Finnish folklore it was known that the forest was a powerful, otherworldly place. When wandering the woods one could sometimes get caught in metsänpeitto, the eerie realm of forest entities. Suddenly all the sounds of the woods would diminish, familiar locations would become unrecognisable and the wanderer would be frozen with confusion and fear. If the wanderer did not know the right spells and rituals to placate the forest entities, he would then be forever lost in metsänpeitto, apart from this world.

BIO :
Behind the project "Protuberance" is Ivelin Iliev - a producer and DJ from Bulgaria. He found out about electronic music for the first time in the mid-1990s when he first heard Prodigy. In the beginning of the new century, he began organizing underground techno parties with friends. In parallel, he started producing his own music. In 2010, he bought the necessary equipment and maked his own studio. Since then, there have been 4 albums released, one of which is on a CD for the oldest net label in Bulgaria for experimental electronic music Mahorka. His name appears in the dub techno combinations of Cold fiction - Future [e] cho. He also released his own music for various small independent labels. As a producer, he sets no boundaries and experiments in various electronic styles such as ambient, DNB, deep techno and IDM. In 2019, he launched his own series of podcasts entitled "Cryptic vibes" , in which he sets up live shows and streams them on Facebook and Youtube. Like a DJ, the music he uses is a cocktail of dub techno, tech house, deep techno and minimal.
