Berlin native Nico Stojan returns to Crosstown Rebels, this time teaming up with Italian native Tooker. The two track EP entitled Frisbee is true to the label, taking the listener on a melodic journey perfectly set for the magical desert of Burning Man or the jungles of Tulum.

Frisbee pays homage to the duos' everyday life and connection that they have together. “Frisbee was created after spending a beautiful afternoon playing frisbee in the park in Berlin. Nico and I were born on the same day in December and Luna was born during the night of the Lunar eclipse in Sagittarius.”

Nico & Tooker create this scene perfectly as the title track opens proceedings, captivating the listener from the off set with delicate 4 x 4 beat before waves of harmonious elements and melodic synths pick you up and take you on a journey, like a frisbee gliding through the air on a warm summer's day. Luna further emphasises the inspiration behind the production. The listener is taken on a metaphorical voyage through the cosmos, with futuristic, space-like melodies and finely placed percussions that twinkle in and out of the track giving a perfect accompaniment to the deeper, darker bass heavy beats at the core of the piece.

This may be their first release together but Frisbee signifies a deep connection between the two that could fool anyone into thinking they have been producing as a duo for some time. Nico is no stranger to Crosstown Rebels having had previous standout releases on the label such as Killing Your Lover and Belladonna. As the co - founder of Quie Records, together with Acid Pauli, the Berlin native has planned to produce more showcases and present his vision of modern dance music across the globe. This vision is embodied beautifully within this EP. Having recently embarked on a solo career, Italian Christopher Tooker is probably best known as one half of KMLN which has seen him playing exciting parties across the globe including; Wonderfruit, Meadows in the Mountains and Burning Man to name a few.

Beyond The Winds

Oona Dahl joined us at All Day I Dream last year both as a DJ and recording artists. Her first release 'high eyes'  was featured on our summer sampler and floated onto the dance floor and into the consciousness of DJ's around the world. Oona studied sound design in the USA before moving to Berlin over the summer of 2015 to continue honing and crafting her sound.  Her first full EP for ADID features deep dreamscapes and innovative arrangements underpinned by solid grooves that capture emotive, twisted melodic expressions. She and her music are a trip to the depths.

For it’s 30th release, @art-vibes-music presents ‘A.W.Y’;  delivered through Geber’s Art vision fusioning trap and techno. This EP is a production that necessitates time and a specific state of mind to comprehend and savor till it’s deepest corners. 

With its’ ascending rhythms, both ‘A.W.Y’ and ‘Balthazar’ , the two main tracks of the EP, blend sensational musical textures that sends gothic shiver into the skin. Elefante Elegante is a remarkable floorfiller, a mesmerizing musical journey of playful chords echoing over a relentless groove. Watergate resident Marco Resmann has given the original more of a techno flavor, with one of his signature break-glass-in-case-of-emergency remixes. Pink Hangover has a dreamier approach. It's like coming home after a long raving rampage, watching the sun rise through your cracked window, pondering. Jose Noventa takes it down a notch, only to take the dreaminess up a notch or two.

Happy Camper 003 has a suitable soundtrack for each part of your extended weekend. Could it be because all of the contributing artists are residents of the world's undisputed rave capital? Is it a Berlin thing? Probably.

The 44th Chapter in this story sees the release of JOBE’s My Regrets, featuring the haunting vocals of Haptic and a big Edition from label bosses VVerses.

As ever with JOBE, the EP is a powerful combination of darkness, melody and heft.

Title track My Regrets is true to form, built on a chunky, driving groove that opens into an expansive and euphoric vocal-led peak in which Haptic takes the lead, giving a performance that is typically haunting and emotional. The Dub Edition, meanwhile, offers a useful counterpoint that smooths out the highs of the original.

Up next, the VVerses Lessons Learned Edition is a blissful combination of new wave-influenced broken beat, delayed basslines and dripping acid. Haptic’s vocal, transformed into an impersonal and heavily vocodered robotic presence, holds the track together as it culminates into choppy ravey chords that channel a Balearic feel.

Final track Luma is an ominous afro tech roller, big dusty drums encasing a central arp that ups the ante and is bound to make the dancefloor bounce. Interweaving synths relentlessly build the tension to a crescendo.
