Cindy Douglas is one of the UK’s brightest emerging jazz singing talents. With a style that’s been described by Jazz Journal magazine as “creative … engaging … conversational”, Cindy has captured audiences’ imaginations across her native Scotland and won admirers among jazz aficionados and critics alike on her London appearances. A singer of traditional music from an early age, Cindy was inspired to devote her life to jazz after taking one of Scottish jazz singing doyenne Fionna Duncan’s vocal jazz courses, where the leading American singer and educator Madeline Eastman made an enormous impression.

With her debut album, My New Jive, receiving enthusiastic reviews from Jazzwise, the Voice of America magazine Jazz Beat and The Musician as well as Jazz Journal, Cindy has created waves as both singer and lyricist and as an inveterate musical adventurer with a fertile imagination she is moving forward with jazz’s core values of rhythm and emotion at heart.

Just demo things for now, find actual released music with my band Even If!

Having record clearance issues stalling me on uploading a reggae mix cd I did a few years back onto here; I have got a much older deep house one up on Mixcloud at least. I tried to get a couple of little ditties I produced onto here too but had file conversion issues. Meanwhile I'll keep scouring SC for all sorts of audio treats from fellow musos around the world. I haven't yet got into reposting, creating playlists, commenting or groups, maybe later... Instead check out some of the varied musical magic I've liked and have a browse through some of the lovely people I'm following. I'm grateful for all the new followers I've picked up as a result of these late night SC sessions, not least as I've found so much cool new music through these fans, artists, djs, producers and labels.
