Ever since I can remember I was in love with music. At the age of 6 all I wanted was to play the piano. I had to beg my parents for 2 years before I got one.
And that's how my "musical life career" all started. I enjoyed playing the classical piano for over 12 years before I got to my biggest decision. I was 20 by then so I had to decide:
a career as classical concert pianist or starting an education in the music industry. I wanted both. So now I'm working in the music industry, always close to new music and fresh sounds, but I never gave up my passion for playing my piano.
 
It was a few years later that my biggest love crossed my path – my turntables! I fell in love and got myself these wonderful Technics MKII. At the beginning I played for myself, my friends or at private parties...always equipped with my round black love in my vinyl-case.
After many years now which I spend with my vinyls in my living room, at friends houses, in many bars and even more (small) clubs I had to move on and finally arrived the digital age (traktor). However, turntables will always be a must!
 
For me personally, music always tells a story - that is what I'm trying to pass on with my DJ sets. That's why I always recommend to listen to my sets from the first to the very last second. It tells a whole story. It is like a painting - put into music. The colours play perfectly togehter and merge into one. All together it results in something complete, something beautiful, something for the heart. That must be love! 
My DJ sets are mainly recorded for listening at home and therefore of an artistic nature. When I play at Clubs and Bars I feel very strongly about introducing my kind of style to the people and soap them up with wonderful, danceable music.
I don’t play-act – I don’t play tracks that I don’t like for myself that don’t catch me. Generally spoken I do music for the heart. The way to people’s hearts isn’t only through their stomach but also thourgh their sense for music.  

Music is like life,sometimes low,  sometimes high,sometimes calm....Music is a kind of treatment.
While I was good electronic music listener for many years.I wanted to bring my interest to the professional scene by taking dj training course.
My music style in my sets contains downtempo, 
deephouse,progressive,electronic and techno genres..
I constantly update my music archive to keep my music passion alive.I play at events,night clubs,private parties and organizations.

Winner of the Queen Elisabeth (2009) and Yehudi Menuhin Competitions (2008), Ray Chen is among the most compelling young violinists today.   “Ray has proven himself to be a very pure musician with great qualities such as a beautiful youthful tone, vitality and lightness.   He has all the skills of a truly musical interpreter,” said the great Maxim Vengerov.
Ray has released two critically acclaimed albums on Sony: a recital program “Virtuoso” of works by Bach, Tartini, Franck, and Wieniawski, and the Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky concertos with Swedish Radio Orchestra and Daniel Harding.   Following the success of these recordings, Ray was profiled by The Strad and Gramophone magazines as “the one to watch”.   “Virtuoso” was distinguished with the prestigious ECHO Klassik award.   He is currently working on his third, all-Mozart album with Christoph Eschenbach and the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra, slated for release later this year.
Ray continues to win the admiration of fans and fellow musicians worldwide.   In 2012, he became the youngest soloist ever to perform in the televised Nobel Prize Concert for the Nobel Laureates and the Swedish Royal Family.   His Carnegie Hall debut with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic and Sakari Oramo, as well as his sold-out Musikverein concert with the Gewandhaus Orchestra and Riccardo Chailly were met with standing ovations.   Since the 2012- 13 season, Ray has been invited to join Konzerthaus Dortmund's series “Junge Wilde,” which presents young and groundbreaking artists in Germany.   Later this season, Ray will make his San Francisco recital debut at the SF Jazz Center. He also looks forward to his upcoming recital tour of Australia and his debuts with the Orchestre National de France and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
Followed by over 500,000 people on SoundCloud, Ray Chen looks to expand the classical music audience by increasing its appeal to the young generation via all available social media platforms.   He is the first ever classical musician to be invited to write a regular blog about his life as a touring soloist for the largest Italian publishing house, RCS Rizzoli (Corriere della Sera, Gazzetta dello Sport, Max).   In his unstinting efforts to break down barriers between classical music, fashion and pop culture, he is supported by Giorgio Armani and was recently featured in Vogue magazine.
Born in Taiwan and raised in Australia, Ray was accepted to the Curtis Institute of Music at age 15, where he studied with Aaron Rosand and was supported by Young Concert Artists.   He plays the 1702 "Lord Newlands" Stradivarius violin on loan from the Nippon Music Foundation.
