GRATITUDE - It's all about the music!

It took me some time to finish this tune, as I composed this almost a decade ago. For some reason, many other musical projects kept distracting me from investing the kind of time this tune, “GRATITUDE”, required and I believe deserved. 
But, I decided to not let it remain on the back burner any longer. 
I’m happy to say I finally got it done.

This tune is all about the gratitude I have towards everything that encompasses music. There’s gratitude simply for music existing in the first place. It’s my heartfelt tribute towards the art of music in all its forms. It is also just as much a tribute to ALL the musicians, from all walks of life, famous and not so famous... with some of course being highly influential and motivational for me on a personal level, all of which have been a source of inspiration in one way or another over the course of my life.

The essence of music is one of those big unanswered mysteries in the human experience. Why is it that we humans perceive the sounds of music in the way we do? No one has ever really come up with a plausible explanation, yet music remains as a special art form that has existed throughout modern civilization and has been expressed in countless ways. It’s pretty incredible… isn’t it?!

So, I conclude with the hopes that you will give a good listen to my tune “GRATITUDE”. 
After all this is a tribute to every one out there... whether you are a fellow musician, or the non-musician that simply loves to listen to music and one that embraces this wonderful and diverse art form.

Money, like a double-edged sword, can sharpen our resolve or blind us to our better selves. In the face of separation, its allure can tempt us to stray from the path of honesty, leading us down a treacherous road where the pursuit of financial gain eclipses the value of our most cherished relationships.

The illusion of security that money promises can distort our judgment, making us prioritize material possessions over the emotional well-being of those we love. In our desperation to safeguard our future, we may resort to deception, believing that it is a necessary sacrifice to ensure our survival.

However, the truth lies in the understanding that true wealth extends far beyond monetary possessions. It resides in the bonds we forge with others, the love we share, and the integrity we uphold. By choosing honesty over deceit, we may face temporary hardship, but we preserve the priceless treasure of our relationships, ensuring a more fulfilling and meaningful future.

Remember, the true measure of a person lies not in their bank account, but in the character they exhibit during life's most challenging moments. Let us choose the path of honesty, for it is the only path that leads to lasting happiness and peace of mind.

4. Paddy Brings Peace To My World  - my other grandfather was a Wellington pilot in the RAF during World War Two. He sadly died in 1943 so I never met him. His death left a huge impact on my grandmother (who never married again) and my dad. She said he was very loving and thoughtful and felt he would have been thinking about them right to the end. That’s the approach in this song. His nickname for her was Paddy. No idea why!  Mastered by RCD Audio.

A publishers accountant , a chippie and two clerks

Just trying to make it back

And I’m imagining what’s next for her
She’ll be told at first that we’re missing
Maybe dead, or prisoners of war

eSTRANGEd couSINs is a project shaped by family, distance, and loss. Daniel grew up barely knowing his cousins Timmy and Kenny after his father left early in his life. While Daniel served in the military, Timmy and Kenny kept making music, and years passed without real contact.

After learning his father had died, Daniel reached out to Timmy. Their first deep conversation brought another heartbreak: Kenny had been killed in a motorcycle accident, and Timmy survived with serious injuries that stayed with him.

When they finally reunited, Timmy arrived with a thick notebook full of poems and songs written for his brother. The two walked to a dark boardwalk in the woods and played—Daniel on guitar, Timmy choosing pages by memory. Daniel recorded everything on his phone. The sound was raw and unpolished, but full of truth. Songs like “Let It Go,” “No Regrets,” “Wheels of Fate,” “Walk Upon Your Grave,” “Without You,” and “The Master of Pain” carried Timmy’s grief, love, and struggle to live with Kenny’s absence.

They spent years dreaming of creating more together. Daniel even wrote a full heavy album, hoping for another chapter. But that future changed when Daniel received the call that Timmy had passed away.

Though Timmy and Kenny are gone, their couSIN Daniel is still here, and the family line continues. eSTRANGEd couSINs now lives on as a dedication: a way to preserve Timmy’s voice, poetry, and spirit, and to let the world hear the heart behind their story.
