Glass asked to their favorite artists of the experimental electronic scene to deconstruct and destroy their album ‘Anxiety Prime’.

This various, built around classic and recognizable Glass fragments, redefines the album in a totally new way and gives it a fresh ambient and club touch.
This is the soundtrack to another stressful & violent world.
 
We cannot thanks enough the artists involved : Aho Ssan, Apollo Noir, Christian Coiffure, CNDSD, KMRU, Low Khey, More Eaze, Zero Crossing Point & ZULI.
And of course Glass who also included a brand new live version of their iconic track ’Skin Transfer’.

"My second EP - a forest which is a place of shelter for me. All tracks were created in an intuitive way: it's like walking in a forest and encountering random impulses - be it either right or wicked. During this process, I realized that it is not worth forcing music making when I do not have enough capacity, especially knowing that I am most expressive in the state of a productive rest. Hence the title ‘4rest’."

Silver Pearl / GUEST MIX

This week’s TANK Mix, an infectiously silly whirlwind of techno, pop and hardcore comes from London-based DJ Maze. Maze is a resident DJ at Voices Radio and the co-founder of Spectrum, an event catering to neurodivergent queer individuals, providing much-needed accommodations and accessibility within nightlife. Spectrum has received recognition from BBC London and Dice.

Picking up from where she left off with last years successful Tools of My Purpose, E-Saggila has returned to BANK employing a more sublime and immersive electronic document. Previously leaning toward noisier and distorted rhythms, she has incorporated more sophisticated elements into writing and production. Dedicated to Sublimity is a product of growth and progression but still reflects the raw elements we’ve heard in her early recordings. Lush and atmospheric elements coincide with the brutality of her live sets and play off one another as a cohesive representation of the E-Saggila project.

Amidst lockdowns and home isolations, we at HER 他 really wanted to keep the party alive (and responsible) while supporting and promoting great artists from around the world. As a result, we have today launched HER 他 Transmission. HER 他 Transmission will be a series of Mixtapes and Live recordings released weekly by artists who we love and inspire us.  

We are excited today to share with you the very first guest mix of our series, A powerful and emotion mixtape by DJ, producer and trans-LGBTQIA + activist Miriam Alegria, better known as @Wantonwitch.   Wanton Witch was born and raised in a small town in Borneo in the east of Malaysia. At the age of 19, she moved to Bangkok to begin her journey in the music world. Since arriving in Bangkok she has made waves in the local and international electronic music scene with her highly emotional, story-telling approach to sound and performance. Wonton Witch is also the co-founder of the queer dedicated Bangkok collective ‘Non Non Non’ and hardcore rave project ‘ELED’.   We met Wonton witch on an Asian tour in Bangkok where her collective, Non Non Non helped us in putting on what was said to be Bangkok's very first All-Female/ LGBTQIA + techno event. We were blown away by her DJ set, compassion and dedication to her art and what she believes in. 

We are very grateful to be able to launch our series with such a strong and upcoming artist.

Here in Melbourne, the Goth Weather is finally upon us and we still cannot legally rave. Today, however, to accommodate for this we bring you the third installment of our HER TRANSMISSIONS series. 

Transmission #3 is an energetic and strong mix from Indonesian artist, DJ, and fashion designer, Itta S.Mulia, AKA- MIXXIT. Hailing from Yogyakarta, Indonesia, MIXXIT has been DJing since 2018 and combines multiple genres and scenes to create her fun, high-energy DJ mixes. A single mix can see crosses between Electronic, techno, punk, metal, experimental music as well as Dangdut Koplo and other traditional forms of Indonesian/ Java music. 

We got to spend some time with Mixxit before the lockdowns on her Australian tour and were really moved by hearing her own story of how she has been working to create safe space for women in Yogyakarta by hosting events and having parties in her studio.

第十輯是台灣駐澳洲DJ Kaytseng在《HER他》墨爾本首場派對的現場錄音。沒機會來到現場的您還是可以用聽來穿越時空與Kaytseng一起尖叫蹦跳。

Our 10th transmission again takes us back to our Melbourne Launch party at the very very sadly missed Crazy Arms and was recorded by Melbourne-based Taiwanese DJ, Kaytseng. Somehow through all the sweat and vibes this mix was recovered and we are able to share the original recording with you for Her Transmission 010.

Kaytseng was born in Taiwan but now resides in Melbourne and is a regular on the Melbourne DJ circuit with her alternation between jumpy and jagged electro, Heavy pounding techno and aggressive EBM. Kaytseng has defied convention at every turn and this Live recording is proof of that. Big things!!!

Welcome back to another Transmission broadcasting from the HER 他 Transmission Mix Series, a weekly mix series showcasing incredible and amazing artists from around the world. For the 46th edition, we bring you a mix from Taiwanese Artist, Betty Apple. 

Born of a millennium generation of Avant-garde artists in Taiwan, Betty Apple is a multidisciplinary artist whose work (and music) focuses on using body politics in performativity as her frameworks and drawing on her lived experiences as a millennial living in post-colonial Taiwan. Her work appropriates symbolic objects from kitsch culture and consumer society as sound elements; mass-produced objects intended for eroticism or entertainment, such as vibrators, underwear or part of sexbot’s body are carried inside the body through violent and grotesque means. Her aim is to study the chaotic and hysterical "noise text" that is created from input to output, distorted by dynamics introduced by humans as well as objects. The main idea is to symbolize what is repressed by the seemingly perfect/accurate sound of science and patriarchy.
