Label founder Mark Knight returns with his most anticipated release yet for 2022 and this time it's a truly special occasion as Mark enlists Dance Music royalty Armand Van Helden for their debut collaboration, 'The Music Began To Play'.

An artist who needs no introduction, Grammy nominated Armand Van Helden is one of dance music's most revered figures, with a career spanning 30 years and a vast discography which includes hits such as 90's classic 'You Don't Know Me' to his seminal hit 'My My My'. His productions and sound have certainly transcended the confines of Dance Music, influencing mainstream popular culture. With a list of collaborations spanning Dizzy Rascal to Steve Aoki, not forgetting one half of Duck Sauce with turntable wizard A-Trak, Armand Van Helden has a reputation as one of House Music's finest producers.

On a roll already this year, Mark Knight has firmly cemented both himself and Toolroom back into the club with a string of collaborations in 2022, from 'You Are A God' with James Hurr and Cari Golden to 'What I Need' with RETNA, Mark seeks to continue this trend with 'The Music Began To Play'. Kicking off with a hard-hitting, thumping House groove and electrified bass line that drives the record hard, pushing the mix to the absolute limit. Before dropping into the track's golden moment, sampling the 1979 classic Disco cut 'I Don't Need No Music' by T.J.M, a gem of a record and one that encapsulates both Mark and Armand's love for classic cuts. Grauzone presents its second EP from the talented producer Håwgk. Danny Wabbit is a minimalist from Istanbul who also works as KYMRS and explores pure techno hypnosis. Björn Torwellen returns to CLR with the ‘Codebreaker’ EP. It follows up his debut ‘Binary Fate’ release, which kicked off the label’s 2025.

Cologne’s Björn Torwellen is back on Chris Liebing’s CLR with the ‘Codebreaker’ EP on 8th August 2025. It follows January 2025’s ‘Binary Fate’ three-tracker, Torwellen’s first foray onto the label, which won support from the likes of Luke Slater, Truncate, Dave Clarke, and more.

Supercharged drums hammer and shake in Björn Torwellen’s ‘The Overstayer Protocol’. The air hums with raw electric power, zapping through soft dub chords that tumble in the distance, offering a glimpse of another world while its industrial groove rattles on. Title track ‘Codebreaker’ then sees the lasers ride pounding kick drums, building in intensity before dropping into head-warping, brutish and futuristic synth hits, closing out another EP of excellent Torwellen sound design for CLR.

With a career spanning over two decades, Björn Torwellen is known for his discography on labels such as De-Konstrukt, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, nonlinear systems, and CLR. He also heads the German-based educational platform SINEE, offering masterclasses, guides, feedback sessions, and more alongside artists such as Luigi Madonna, ANNẼ, and DEAS.

Founded by influential techno lynchpin Chris Liebing in 1999 and reemerging in 2021 after a five-year hiatus, Create Learn Repeat (CLR) has hosted a range of artists like Shlomi Aber, Dubfire, Flug, Bjarki, DJ Dextro and more while also focusing on developing newer acts in the scene such as Risa Taniguchi, The Southern, and Klint.

TDDE (Third Dimension Dance Encounter) began when Pan-Pot accidentally spun a record backward at exactly 3:33 AM, tearing a rift through space-time and summoning a dancefloor from the fourth dimension. Out poured creatures made of soundwaves and strobe-light dust, who insisted on co-producing the track using zero-gravity turntables and vibes compressed into crystal form. Every drop in the song corresponded to a collapse in physical law-basslines folding gravity, hi-hats opening portals, synths bending causality into grooves. At the climax, time briefly reversed, and the studio became a sentient disco ball that whispered the final mix into their minds.
