Ann Jangle. Queen of the underground. Her ominous style of dark folk, electric rock, gypsy infused, theatrical, soulful style of writing & performing leaves a long lasting impression. She belts out her voice on stage like she was born there. This South-African born singer/ songwriter/ producer/ composer has performed her way onto a vast variety of stages all across Europe & Southern Africa and shares the stage with many different artists to bring a heartfelt performance that resonates.
Since the start of Ann Jangle, she has received a substantial amount of airplay and very good write ups all over South-Africa and Europe.
2012 gave way to the Debut album ‘acoustic archive’. With a very acoustic sound, deeply rooted in the blues. Ann’s love for Dark, underground sounds & odd music genres called her to a greater challenge, a deep desire to break free from a box and create her own style.
It was then that the much anticipated 2nd album “KICKING SAWDUST” launched in Cape Town, South-Africa in MARCH 2015, with a more powerful sound than ever before. On this album Ann is joined by an 8 piece band on different instruments including Trumpet, Celo, Banjo, Saxophone, Accordion and many more. It features some of South Africa’s finest talent and has featured on many Music Review Platforms such as ‘Kalulah Inflight Magazine’, ‘Kfm Radio’s Artist of the Week’, ‘Texx and the City Album Review’, ‘Wat Kyk Jy’, ‘European Music Bloggers Forum” and many more.
With a Dark Folk, Gypsy-SKA undertone, Ann’s passion for experimenting has driven her to many different recipes for great entertainment.

Since starting her career as a full time musician in 2011, Ann was solely based in Cape Town, South-Africa, but has recently relocated back from a 2 year journey in EUROPE where she spent her time touring, playing music in over 20 countries. She was mostly based in Berlin, Germany, as this was where her deep desire to gain more experience and knowledge of music internationally satisfied her most.

Since 2015 no new music has been released by Ann Jangle untill now. It has been a crazy transformation. August 2017 gives way to the first single, Nothing Left, off of her 3rd album.

The Black Cat Bones – ‘The Long Drive’ album release

The Black Cat Bones’ second album ‘The Long Drive’ is set to be released on 1 October 2011.

The album is a culmination of experiences gathered from a demanding two-year touring and performing schedule, reflecting every emotion, every triumph, and every loss - on the road, on stage, and in life. Following their well-received debut release ‘Silverton Swamp Songs’ (2009), ‘The Long Drive’ combines both the timeless energetic blues-rock sound of the band with a new, mature and innovative approach to their music. Well known songwriter Koos Kombuis calls it ‘a fusion of Blues and Rock n Roll, but they do it so damn good that it sounds like something totally new..’

‘The Long Drive’ was recorded between May and September 2011 at Wolmer Records together with SAMA award-winning producer Lanie van der Walt, and combines the song writing skills of vocalist Kobus de Kock jr and guitarist Andre Kriel with the infectious rhythmic offerings of Chris van der Walt on Bass and Keyboards and Jason Hinch on drums and percussion. The album contains 10 original tracks featuring the breathtaking vocal harmonies of Tammy Wilson (Southern Gypsy Queen), as well as a slow but fervent version of Janis Joplin’s ‘Ball and Chain’ with Jacob Wulana from ‘Tidal Waves’ fame on Hammond Organ. The songs range from honest and soulful compositions that touch on everyday adversities to hard-driving Blues-with-attitude, unmistakably matching the intensity of their live shows.

The first single ‘The Long Drive’ is set to hit the airwaves in late September, followed by launch events at The Radium Beer Hall in Orange Grove, Johannesburg (01 October), and Cafe Barcelona in Elardus Park, Pretoria (14 October).
