Just in time for Halloween, the Hieroglyphics crew is back with a new jawn titled “Heebie Jeebies.” The Gully Duckets-produced track finds the eight-man crew rapping over some menacing production with a slight trap feel to it. This track is one of two jawns that came out of the entire crew being together in the studio in YEARS. This week has been busy for the crew already, as member Pep Love released his Dolla Daily EP on Tuesday.

FTR: Blow Sum Smoke consists of the mixture of organic drums and heavy electronics that have always been present in my sound. This song is a continuation of that, and is still open to lyrics. Melodically i wanted to proceed with a more laid back approach. Smooth chords, simple, but focused on the sound, opening up room for the raps, rather than going to far out there with different tangents.

Opio: Off the bat, this track was hella stoney. The music is a stimulant within itself and it put me in that frame of mind. The music reminded of how I like the mixture of marijuana and music, how cannabis can help open your mind to really hear something, like you have never heard it before. Most weed songs can be corny and cliche but when I heard this track it sounded like a classic, it sounded familiar. I wanted to provide a new take on a generally unapproachable subject. There's an authenticity to this song both musically and lyrically. It just has that dope vibe, it makes you feel good.

Tomorrow Land, a song about how far we've come and how far we have left to go, because no day holds as much unrealized potential as Tomorrow.  Off of my upcoming EP, set to drop April 2016.

I chose to make this song my first single as Adam Vida, because it really represents the motivation I'm feeling at this part of my journey.. In life AND as a hip hop artist.   

Me and my friends I do this music with, we've come so far as a team, and I've come so far as A-1, but like all things in life I am changing.  Adam Vida represents my growth as a human and as a musician, evolving from A-1 into something more worldly, more traveled, more experienced in life, hence the name "Vida".

Nearly two decades after the release of his classic debut, West Coast stalwart Ras Kass returns to 'Soul On Ice' for a two-part follow-up album led by tough-as-nails lead single “Downward Spiral.” It boasts neck-snapping production by UK’s ILLinformed, and a series of grimy features from Freddie Foxxx and Onyx’s Fredro Starr and Sticky Fingaz.

With slick references to Killer Mike, Conrad Murray (the doctor who killed Michael Jackson), artist Dorian Gray, and wack trend-hopping rappers, Ras steals the show here with his attention-commanding opening verse before passing the mic to his talented collaborators. Each emcee offers gritty, raw, and timeless rhymes that ultimately point directly back to the hook’s message of flushing all the bullsh*t directly down the sh*tter like it deserves.
