Mayan Warrior is the result of a collaborative project that has united artists, craftsmen, photographers, designers, technologists, architects and musicians from Mexico City and Northern California. 

The project’s original intent was to present to the world the incredible ascent of contemporary Mexican electronic music while paying respect to the deep and ancient sources from which that visual and auditory culture had grown.


Both light and sound are curated by some of the world’s most prominent artists to transport participants to the very origins of the culture – and to a new understanding of contemporary electronic expression.

AND YES: Mayan Warrior is driven from Mexico City to the playa – and back – each year. It's a labor of love and we're glad so many people enjoy it.

A native of Macedonia and longtime resident of Seattle, Kinjo contributes to the Pacific Northwest music community as a DJ, producer, promoter, and record label head. His sound has morphed through the years, yet an aura of psychedelia lifted through space by futuristic rhythms and basslines remains his consummate passion. Along the way expect teasing vocal samples, trippy twists & turns, and trancy grooves on a minimal tip.

Describing his journey through music: “The desire to play music to friends and acquaintances brings you from the dance floor to the DJ booth. The desire to see and hear how they respond to music, keeps you in the booth.” It all began with small private events in Macedonia, leading to clubs, festivals, and the Beatnex party brand in Skopje. Once in Seattle, Kinjo supported production of the venerable Decibel Festival and eventually established Grounded alongside then-local Miles Mercer. Across several years Grounded provided an unparalleled space in Seattle’s music culture for up & coming, genre-bending local DJs and premieres of touring acts such as Frank & Tony, Dorisburg, DJ Dustin, Chaos in the CBD, Toshiya Kawasaki, Palms Trax.

Alongside long-time friend and b2b partner Konifer, Kinjo launched Rhizome Records in 2018. Rhizome created a platform for introducing West Coast producers to International remixers specializing in minimal and eclectic dance music. With 2 vinyls and 6 digital releases already in its catalog, the future looks bright for Rhizomeiros everywhere. 2022 saw the emergence of the Makes Me Human events series, marking a new chapter in Kinjo’s engagement with the Seattle music scene through a monthly introduction to the international underground circuit’s finest talents including Sepp, Mihigh, Janeret, Alexandra, Cosmjn, Amir Javasoul, and an ever-growing list of must-hears.

As the name states Live at Robert Johnson is the associated label of the respected venue in Offenbach and incorporates what the club stands for. The imprint has been establishing a solid ground for the new Frankfurt sound since 2009. By featuring internationally acclaimed artists LARJ has been providing DJs and audiences with essential tunes in an extensive range of high-quality house music. Laid-back dance-floor awareness with a sense for particularity in sound is what might describe best most of the releases and artists.

Italian producer Neel is a meticulous producer who has earned a fine reputation for his smooth, supple and hypnotic techno output. It has come so far - both in solo form and as Voices from the Lake with Donato Dozzy - on labels like Prologue, whilst a new EP is due later this year, as is a much anticipated debut full length, Phobos, on the Spectrum Spools label. When it comes to club and festival performances, Neel is both an experienced DJ who can plot real sonic stories, but so too does he play live with Dozzy as Voices from the Lake, and more recently he has started performing cerebral AV shows with abstract visuals accompanying his heady soundscapes.

I started DJ'ing in 1987, am 50% of Optimo (Espacio) and I also run the Optimo Music record label.

Some guys have all the luck. Some take the easy route. Some pick the low hanging fruit. And then there's the High + Tight crew. For the last 10 years High + Tight have been throwing some of the seemingly most effortless parties on the planet. Every detail worked out, from sound to decor to door policy. There may be louder parties. There are certainly bigger parties. There are flashier flyers sprinkled with piss in every commode this side of Pike Place Market. And these guys wouldn't want it any other way. The thought that goes into a High + Tight party means you are getting an experience, an environment: set and setting. And they put just as much thought into their DJ sets. An insatiable hunger for dance floor knowledge both old and new, their work is your gain. But they also know that longer sets for headliners sometimes means taking the back seat. And they do so gladly. When the moment is right, they aren't shy about playing the right music for the right moment. Knowing the arc of the night. Letting the crowd down easy. Keep 'em wanting more.
