Reed Schackmann and Brandon Ficquette began writing music together in 2015. They began performing as an acoustic duo but quickly realized they were meant to get louder. Brandon's ability to generate catchy riffs and guitar virtuosity lent itself perfectly to Reed's songwriting sensibilities and wide vocal range. The duo continued to write and perform until 2017 when they were joined by the powerhouse rhythm section of drummer Tom Andes and bassist Alejandro Quiroz. Tom and Alejandro provided the deep pocket and rocking groove as the perfect compliment to the guitar duo. From then on, the group went electric and Louder Oceans was born.

In October of 2018, Louder Oceans released their debut album Megaphone Tsunami. The album was well received, receiving regular radio play both locally and internationally. 

In January 2023, Louder Oceans released their first single, Quicksand, off of their forthcoming album Into the Sound.
