This is very soft and relaxing. It is amazing that someone can remember how to duplicate finger moves for tunes like this.

your breath control makes this drone chording so perfect as some other instrument all together...love it!!!

Native American Flute

The first time I played a Contra Bass flute was a couple of years ago when I visited Odell Borg at High Spirits Flutes in Patagonia, AZ (www.highspirits.com).

At that time I was more interested in the higher pitched flutes so I didn't take a Contra Bass flute back to the Netherlands with me. Shortly after I returned I started getting a lot of comments about how the penetrating vibrations of my Condor Bass flutes were deeply affecting people during my chakra flute concerts. It was then that I realized the benefits of the deeper vibrations and I knew I needed a Contra Bass flute. I started with a Contra Bass “A” and soon after added a Contra Bass “F#”. 

Morning Meditation was recorded playing my Contra Bass “F#” in my garden. It was a warm, bright, sunny day and there were lots of birds around me singing along with my song. It was a beautiful moment.

Frank Ravenwolf Henninger is a Native American flute performer, flute instructor and flute circle leader in southeastern Pennsylvania. He performs under the name Ravenwolf to honor two unique wildlife experiences that profoundly influenced his life.

Henninger’s song “Puye Mesa” comes from his second album Ravenwolf 2. The spacious mystic melody in this song was inspired by the magic of the Puye Cliff Dwellings in northern New Mexico.

Recently, my wife let me buy her a Moyo drum, knowing full well that I would be the one who played it most. Jayme’s Song is my way of thanking her for loving and supporting music in our lives. This recording documents my first time playing the Moyo. The song came together spontaneously as I learned to connect with the instrument and integrate it with my flutes. As you’ll hear the two instruments compliment each other well.

“During one of my many visits to Sedona, AZ my partner and I were hiking through a tree lined canyon next to a sweet babbling creek on the West Fork Oak Creek Trail when I stopped to play my flute. After playing for a while, an unknown sound started above us. It was getting louder and louder so we looked up and we could see the trees moving but there was no wind! We realized that the Canyon was answering the flute, singing its loving song. Canyon Call is inspired by this experience.”

In "Call From The Mountains" Vibhas Kendzia takes us to the mountains of Peru where Native Flute melodies soar through deep valleys and echo from high mountains. At first there is a call and the mountain responds, but soon the two merge to become one song, one entity.
