This is the first Shambhala mix I have ever done after all the years I have played this amazing Festival. Every time I have performed I've come away with countless memories & great moments. This year was exceptional, with DJ Premier, Jazzy Jeff, Skratch Bastid, The Gaff, Chali 2na & Cut Chemist, A.Skillz, Slynk, Fort Knox 5, Q Dup on a Saturday night. I have created the mix exactly how it was performed as  it was not recorded live. Big thanks to Rich E Rich for having me once again, I truly had the most incredible weekend. Here's my Qdup DJ Set from Wicked Woods Music Festival 2024 in Fairmont Springs, BC Canada. This was a great time playing the Friday night on The Unicorn Lounge stage. We had so many of our Danio Management roster and so many great DJ's and producers friends and idols at this one it felt like a real family jam. If you've not had the chance to make it, I highly recommend attending some time!

I've been getting bombarded with questions about whether I recorded my LIVE @A.SKILLZ set, and surprise, surprise—I did! Let me spin you a tale about this epic night when Calgary showed up in full force, and honestly, I'm just here trying to keep my humility in check like a DJ trying to balance the bass.

This gig marked my grand comeback after a seven-year hiatus—yes, that's right, seven years plus I’ve waited twenty years for this one as he was my last bucketlist dj to share the stage with. I wanted to pay tribute to the musical influences that shaped me, so I decided to serve it up in three delicious courses. 

First course: a throwback to my teenage years when I went by the name Eddy Brock—think of it as a nostalgic appetizer featuring the underground hip-hop scene where I opened for shows and tried to impress more than just the crowd's taste buds. 

Second course: a hearty helping of what Big Delicious & BUCK WILDE used to dish out—because who doesn't love a little throwback flavor? And for the grand finale, the dessert that is DANK SINATRA! It's a whole new recipe, and trust me, it’s a far cry from my previous concoctions.

Remember when going out used to be fun? Do you prefer dancing to posing? Does your idea of dressing to impress have nothing to do with designer labels and everything to do with finding a gorilla costume in the perfect shade of purple? Bored of identikit ‘edgy’ nights called Fraktion, Elastik, and other ironically misspelled words? Well despair no more because THE HONG KONG PING PONG CLUB is here to restore your faith in the weekends!

During the late 00’s in the farthest flung reaches of the South West a group of friends were brought together by a mutual love of good music. With roots in Funk, Hip Hop, Big Beat and Breaks they had a no holds barred attitude
to their tune selection, playing a multi genre smorgasbord each bringing their own flavour to the mix.

Refusing to be pigeonholed and taking inspiration from nights like ‘The Heavenly Social’ and ‘The Big Beat Boutique’ ‘The Hong Kong Ping Pong Club’ was conceived. They rapidly gained a loyal party loving following at their spiritual home and residency ‘The Watermans’ in Falmouth and were soon playing host to the great and good within the scene.

Thrusting themselves in to the limelight with the infamous ‘Mixtape’ series the next logical step was to take the show on the road and bookings for booths in clubs and stages in fields quickly followed.

They have become a main stay at Shindig Festival, Shambala, Leopallooza and The Great Estate and have recently started to once again promote their own night’s back in Falmouth at The Underland Bar.

They love The Hong Kong Ping Pong Club and if you are inclined to dance like a drunken-hands-in-the-air Viking to bootie shakingly good music you’ll like it too!
