Stavroz are a Belgian four-piece known for their delicately acoustic, organic, and cinematic approach to electronic music. Founded in East Flanders by IJsbrand De Wilde and Gert Beazar, the project soon expanded into a full live band with Maxim Helincks and Pieter De Meester, evolving from DJ sets into richly textured performances that blur the boundaries between genres. Early releases like The Ginning and Gold Town brought international recognition, with the latter reaching No. 1 on Beatport’s Electronic Top 100 and featuring on the soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto V.Over the past decade, Stavroz have built a reputation for crafting soundscapes that feel both intimate and expansive, balancing melancholy with groove. Their independent label, Moodfamily, has become a home for their own output as well as like-minded artists. On stage, they’ve captivated audiences at Coachella, Fusion Festival, Wonderfruit, Pukkelpop, Strawberry Fields, and through their celebrated Cercle performance at Fort Saint-Eynard.With millions of streams and a growing global following, Stavroz continue to push their uniquely organic take on electronic music forward. Their latest album, 'Take a Seat' (October 17th), captures the band at their most focused and free. Written and recorded during their Kick Up The Dust tour across different corners of the world, the 14-track journey drifts through dusty deserts, humid cities – all without ever losing the unmistakable Stavroz sound.

"We enjoy stepping out of the ordinary when it comes to making DJ sets. We mix harmonically, give some songs a bit more of a dancefloor element by editing them (hence the Stavroz edits), and play tracks that normally “shouldn’t belong” in a DJ set. What comes out is often a really engaging and fascinating journey and combination of songs. We believe the tracklist already shows that."

"This is an age old story, of a man once a boy..."

On February 14th, David Block aka The Human Experience opened his heart to the world as he released his 6th full length album (collaborations and EPs excluded). The album, titled "Broken Open," examines the depths of the most difficult of human emotions, the "age old story," love. "Broken Open," like love, is complex and wrought with all that comes with falling in love, being in love, letting go of love, and (most importantly) loving oneself. The 13-song album immerses the listener in sadness, joy, compassion, bliss, peace, and all of the other beautiful feelings that come with experiencing what it is to love and to be loved.

The title track, "Broken Open," showcases Block's talent for blending electronic compositions with organic sounds featuring heartbreaking vocals and a piano that makes you feel like you're in a smoky jazz club which transition nicely into the scat-like snaps in "Traveling Blues," and a trombone (played by Mal Webb) that makes you feel at turns excited and lonely.

When asked about the album, Block said, "The songs explore the full spectrum of love; Birthing from innocence to heartbreak to love in the other to breaking free to finding love in oneself" - from highs that make you feel as though you're "Walking on the Moon," to heart wrenching lows as love "Slips Away."

True to form, Block showcases his talents while embracing the strengths in others. The album has many incredible collaborations, with tracks featuring The Grouch, Quixotic, Leah Song (Rising Appalachia) and more.

Block has built a diverse fan base from countries around the world and played events ranging from Burning Man, Boom, Coachella, Electric Forest, Wakarusa, Lightning in a Bottle, Sonic Bloom, Symbiosis, and Envision to name a few. David has shared the stage with artists such as Thievery Corporation, Bonobo, Tipper, Emancipator, and many more.

While Block's sultry beats and cohesive sound have always been seductive, "Broken Open" brings a brazen vulnerability that comes with maturity. More than just sharing emotion with the listener, Block provides something more - something new. "Broken Open" goes out on a stylistic limb which is both innovative and refreshing.

"It is different, and I'm embracing that it's great to be different sometimes," says Block.
 
The album serves as the debut album for the "Slow Down" label.

An epic sunrise and then a mesmerizing beautiful morning. No sand storms this time. Absolutely quiet and peaceful Playa. Feelings of of happiness, the fulfillment of the moment, and childish enlightenment were taking us over, and even of something more, something that is hard to describe, because it is rather similar to magic, that is flowing in the air over that giant heart on the top of bus.

We'd like to spread our love and gratefulness to every one who was still with us at midday, while the sun was in its zenith. We literally got burnt under its rays. It must have been the hottest day of that week. But could it stop us? No way. That 3,5 hours were like one moment.

Our congratulations and thanks to the Robot Heart team. You've been producing love for 10 years and granting happiness in Black Rock City. We could feel it from outside, and now we are honored to be part of it. We really appreciate it.
