Chapter 24’s second album release comes from young Parisian composer Anton Dhouran. 

Born into a family of movie-makers and having grown up dreaming of writing music for film, the 23-year old has turned his hand to making cinematic dance tracks.  His success so far has seen him sign to labels such as Diynamic, Jeudi and The Soundgarden.  

Dhouran’s first full-length LP, 'The Myth of Tarae', is typically epic in its breadth and narrative, effortlessly melding the combination of electronic, instrumental and cinematic styles for which he has become known. In keeping with the cinematographic thrust of the work, it is accompanied by a short film which matches the music in its scope and ambition.  

The film, which scores the album’s powerful title track, is a project overseen by Dhouran with the aim of raising awareness of the current plight of the environment.  Both music and film share an apocalyptic, haunting but ultimately uplifting quality. 

True to Chapter 24’s ‘stories in sound’ ethos, the ten-track LP is fuelled by a desire to take listeners on a journey.  Opener 'This Is Us' sets the tone, offering atmospheric electronica, acoustic guitar and live drums, before the moody synthesis of 'Valhalla Rising' picks up the pace into early standout 'Amenestra', featuring Etienne Girardin.  

'Inception' channels Radiohead’s ‘Paranoid Android’ as haunting, psychedelic Spanish guitars are balanced with warm synth lines which tread the line between melancholy and optimism.  'Isle of Arava' and 'Praetorius' both continue the album’s motif of flute instrumentation, while the epic 'A Kind of Light' is a mythical voyage in its own right.

The album closes with the more driving 'Lost in Charcot' and the outstanding title track featuring the transportive vocals of London-based singer Ed Begley.  'Odyssey' provides a dramatic finishing note, a summation of the atmosphere and emotion riven throughout the piece.

All told, this is a combined album and film release that should fire the imagination of listeners and viewers, and marks the continued rise of the talented Anton Dhouran.

Both LP and short film for 'The Myth of Tarae' will be released in early December on Chapter 24.  A remixes album is forthcoming in 2018.

Trevino aka Marcus Intalex joins recent Aus signings Recloose and Cassy with his 'Casino' EP. Marcus Intalex is widely known for making ground breaking drum and bass. In 2011 he started the Trevino alias to feed his desire to get back to his roots and rekindle his 4 to the floor spirit. 

This new phase of his career propelled him to move to Berlin where he's continued to develop a hugely impressive discography that’s included releases on Ben Klock's Klockworks and Martyn's 3024.

'Casino' brings together three deftly structured and dance floor focused tracks that blur the boundary between house and techno in true Trevino fashion.

August 8th sees Intec’s esteemed label co-heads Carl Cox and Jon Rundell both put their own unique spin on Josh Wink’s illustrious 2014 hit ‘Talking To You’, distributed via the aforementioned imprint.

This impressive two-track offering follows a whole host high quality 2016 Intec releases including the Beatport chart topping ‘Intec 100’, which last saw Carl and Jon team up to deliver a release well worthy of its billing. 

Carl Cox’s interpretation commences the release, boasting the original’s ‘I’m Talking To You’ vocal sample set to a driving Tech House rhythm with a looped-up manipulated chord riff and an abundance of squelchy acid bleeps. 

Jon Rundell’s re-work follows and ventures down more of a darker Techno route, utilising the original’s vocal sample and acidline but adding a pounding TR-909-laden groove, sinister sound effects and a clever arrangement.   

You can catch the Ovum Records label boss Josh Wink perform alongside Carl at his final ever season at Space Ibiza (every Tuesday until September 20th) on August 16th.  

‘Talking To You’ (Carl Cox & Jon Rundell Remixes) is available exclusively via Beatport from August 8th and everywhere else two weeks later.

Born and raised in the Netherlands, in his teenage years Mike quickly became infatuated with electronic music. It was the likes of Cassius, Daft Punk and DJ Falcon that pulled him towards the French House realm. The uplifting melodies and funk driven bass lines inspired him to dive in to audio production for himself. Through his work ethic and passion for the craft, Mike powered through a few other genres before arriving at his true love: dirty, gritty, Tech House. The trademark French filtered break downs remained, but today are accompanied by bass heavy and filth covered beats. His credo: "if they move, they approve", allow for some pretty straightforward 4x4 productions.

With recent releases for some of the scene’s leading labels, Fideles (aka Daniele Aprile and Mario Roberti) are an Italian duo on the rise. Their spellbinding ‘Impressum’ EP is both a fine example of the Fideles sound and exactly in keeping with the direction Tale Of Us are steering their Afterlife label. Inspired by the Ionian sea in Southern Italy, low-pitched basslines and soaring synths give the tracks just the right amount of drama, whilst the rich sound-design allows them to make the most of a big system; something Tale Of Us have put to great use in their sets this year. Known for his inciting live sets, Berliner Midas104 puts on his producer hat for an interstellar journey into electronica on the Planetarium remix, bringing forth a minimal and synth-ridden composition.

The Township Rebellion troupe chime in on the B side, offering up their own slice of aerial vibe on the Through The Darkness redo. Percussion takes the lead, as the artists concoct a mysterious portion of choral harmonies and upbeat strings, resulting in a guided journey out of the dark ambiance.

Octopus Recordings label chief Sian takes on the Techno powerhouse that is They Can’t Hold Me Back, resulting in an ever stronger dose of pitch black pounding rhythms. Taking cues from the original melodics, Sian’s version is a straight, relentless four to the floor upshot.

Isle of Arava and Praetorius both continue the album’s motif of flute instrumentation, while the epic A Kind of Light is a mythical voyage in its own right.
The album closes with the more driving Lost in Charcot and the outstanding title track featuring the transportive vocals of London-based singer Ed Begley. Odyssey provides a dramatic finishing note, a summation of the atmosphere and emotion riven throughout the piece.
All told, this is a combined album and film release that should fire the imagination of listeners and viewers, and marks the continued rise of the talented Anton Dhouran.

Both LP and short film for The Myth of Tarae will be released in early December on Chapter 24. A remixes album is forthcoming in 2018.

Anton Dhouran is Paris-based a young composer, musician and DJ, 23 years young and already signed with several labels such as Diynamic music, Einmusika, Chapter 24 and Manual music. 

Born into a family of movie-makers and having grown up dreaming of writing music for film, the 23-year old has turned his hand to making cinematic dance tracks.

Dhouran’s first full-length LP, 'The Myth of Tarae', is typically epic in its breadth and narrative, effortlessly melding the combination of electronic, instrumental and cinematic styles for which he has become known. 
In keeping with the cinematographic thrust of the work, it is accompanied by a short film which matches the music in its scope and ambition.  

The film, which scores the album’s powerful title track, is a project overseen by Dhouran with the aim of raising awareness of the current plight of the environment.  Both music and film share an apocalyptic, haunting but ultimately uplifting quality. 

True to Chapter 24’s ‘stories in sound’ ethos, the ten-track LP is fuelled by a desire to take listeners on a journey.
