To coincide with the full remix album’s unveiling on CD, the exquisite reworkings of “All I Think About Is Death” and “Why You Feel So Low”, by techno heavyweights Radio Slave and Function respectively, have been singled out for release on vinyl.

The former bears all the hypnotic hallmarks of a Radio Slave classic: incrementally menacing percussive lines woven with the heart- wrenching vocal chants of the original over an epic 12 minutes. At once understated and emphatic, the tenor is deepened in the extreme on an ambient “Atmos” version.

Berghain resident, Function, on the other hand treats Claustrophobia’s flagship “Why You Feel So Low” with a delicate touch: he retains the buoyant hook of the original, underlying it with a thunderous, reverberating bassline, handclaps for days, and a beat tailor-made for only the biggest and brightest sound systems.

Our favourite Italian trio return for what will be their seventh SCI+TEC instalment and their first since 2013’s ‘Black Ball EP’. The Dolphins are some of the original and oldest members of the SCI+TEC family having first released with us back in 2008. Their stock soon rose and it wasn’t long before the likes of Boxer, Toolroom and Suara were all casting their nets for music from the act. 

Their ‘Mutante EP’ is, for us, their finest work to date and bursting at the seams with its five groove-laden tracks. A feast of tripping tech that twists and tickles the musical tastebuds, morphing from the bouncing rhythm and synthetic squeeks of the title track and opener ‘Mutante’, through the bobbing buzz and growling stabs of ‘Rolling’, to the angelic vox, electro hits and snare rolls of ‘Abstract Chord’. This ever evolving collection is a unique and essential release that flows impressively from beginning to end. Not to be missed!

Welcome to our first artists from Tokyo: Drunken Kong. With their great releases on Christian Smith's label Tronic, D. Singh and DJ Kyoko had a regular place on Monika Kruse's stick and she was even happier when she received this demo EP from the duo. The big hype about this release began when Monika dropped the title track 'Chanted' in her boiler room set last summer and it became bigger and bigger since then.

Delusion is a fresh-out-of-the-studio deep hypnotic techno track by Melbourne based Daniel Verhagen. It's the first track from his forthcoming EP to be released on Australian underground house/techno superlabel Upon Access run by Made in Paris.

A hypnotic atmosphere, timeless piano keys and dreamy vocal all create a perfect soundscape on this (d)illusional track.  Delusion was inspired by the delusive lure of perfectionism whilst on the pursuit of mastery. Sonically, it features a contrasting balance of classical and contemporary instruments used to create a film music inspired melancholic soundscape.

Out on Upon Access January 27th.

Premiere: Lizards - Aloof (Lord Of The Isles Remix)

Peckham duo FYI Chris return to Rhythm Section INTL for the second time with their ‘Snafubar’ EP, including the raw and dusty house track ‘Lonestar’.

Although the track can be said to possess a house structure, it’s clearly not easy to categorize, as the producers use an unconventional approach to delivering dancefloor focused material. With an overall gritty motif, FYI Chris present a stripped back cut highlighted by rough, warm and organic textures.

On the inspiration behind ‘Lonestar’, FYI Chris give a nod to a legendary hip-hop duo: "We’re big fans of a certain duo from DITC and this track is a little shout out to those guys".

Perhaps Rodney and Andre would be down to lay a verse on this one, but that’s a different story.
