Interestingly, some men genuinely proposed marriage to courtesans. To some, the courtesans working here might have seemed like starlight in the night sky.

Katsushika Hokusa.(1760 –1849), known simply as Hokusai, was a Japanese ukiyo-e artist of the Edo period, active as a painter and printmaker. He is best known for the woodblock print series Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji, which includes the iconic print The Great Wave of Kanagawa,  In addition to his woodblock ukiyo-e prints, Hokusai worked in a variety of mediums including painting and book illustration. Starting as a young child, he continued working and improving his style until his death, at 88. In a long and successful career, Hokusai produced over 30,000 paintings, sketches, woodblock prints, and images for picture books in total. Innovative in his compositions and exceptional in his drawing technique, Hokusai is considered one of the greatest masters in the history of art.  At the age of seventy-five Hokusai defiantly referred to himself as ‘the old man mad about painting” as he railed against his mortality by declaring that he would live past 100 years and in so doing, achieve artistic immortality. “From the age of six I had a penchant for copying the forms of things, and from about fifty, my pictures were frequently published; but until the age of seventy, nothing that I drew was worthy of notice. At seventy-three years, I was somewhat able to fathom the growth of plants and trees, and the structure of birds, animals, insects, and fish. I wrote this song about a year ago and was inspired to write the music after my uncle passed away who was a big part of the 1960s underground and psychedelic music scene in london ,the hippies of that time would frequent a place called the ufo club where they would drop acid and watch such acts as the early syd barrett era pink floyd and many other upcoming music stars of that time.
This song is a bit introspective as well as all things must pass like the music it was an end of an era [jim 2023]

There are forests on Earth that endure extreme winters, places where temperatures can reach up to -40/-50C.
They are called Taiga 
Plants and animals go into hibernation hoping they have stored enought nutrients to survive another extreme seasson.
A once thriving forest full of beauty, sounds and colours turn in to a deadly , almost lifeless , colourless and soundless frozen desert.
Life`s clock seems to slow down to a halt while hours turn to days , days turn to weeks and weeks turn to months.
Until the first sun rays strong enough to stop the ice and snow`s  deadly grip ,appear..
Like an explosion...Life`s clock speeds up while the forest heart beats faster and faster, the forest is awaking along with its inhabitants..
Spring returns ...Life begins ....again...

A tongue in cheek look at life and something we all must of thought about in our younger days on our journey to becoming a Rockstar that nearly but never actually happened.
Could we really cope with fame & fortune and turn into a complete and utter paranoid, drunken, drug using woe is me individual.

Thanks to Dirk from The Gatsbys for his contribution on the guitar work an excellent performance from Denmarks finest. One of the best things about Soundcloud is meeting like minded people and collaborating. Look forward to seeing what 2024 brings. Special thanks to Noobly for us his hard work in writing and producing such wonderful instrumentals. It’s two years since we started the Conscience Of Kings project and we have recorded over a 100 songs together. We have been interviewed by the BBC and had airplay from many radio stations and podcasts.Released singles, Eps and an album on all major streaming services, ended up on many playlists.

I pictured a Viking funeral and tried to capture the sorrow and lament of its participants.
When the instruments fade at the end you will hear the earth rumble,thats the sound of the warriors passing to Valhalla....where Odin awaits with open arms.

A Vikings Farewell

I tried to capture the dawn of a forest,when the first sun rays wakes every living creature of the forest,this is basically how i would like to wake up every morning,if you listen carefully you can hear bird tweeting in the beginning.
I dedicate this track to a Soundcloud user I met last year,his work is really good,experienced composer that gave me the motivation I needed at the time.

Reflection

This is Charnia.
Charnia is the oldest extinct  organism known to man.
We still dont know if it was a plant or animal.
What we do know is that it lived alone in the bottom of the ocean in freezing temperatures and total darkness.
Charnia died .... without ever feeling the warmth of the sun.
