With Adhémar's cross-continental musical journey we're glad to show you the live set number eleven of Melantónia. The multi-disciplinary artist establishes his universe through music and visual works, constantly in search of the luminous quality of sounds, in a world made of shadows and light, his music is closely linked to his plastic work.
This obsession with shadows leads him to think and create spaces, atmospheres that focus on the lightness and poetry of light. The idea of "narrative potential of music", allows us to confront the psychological and philosophical journey with a particular relationship on what is alive and what surrounds us (whether it is the material, immaterial world, the fact that everything is constantly becoming). With a particular rigour for transitions, whether in his own production or in his DJset, his universe is built little by little, with the passing of sound transformations and the light and poetic transportation of it all.

For the fourth installment of our ‚Identity formation‘ podcast series, we are happy to present Mind over MIDI (@mind-over-midi-1). Hailing from Kristiansund on the northwest coast of Norway, Helge Tømmervåg has been crafting electronic sounds since the early '80s. His earliest work recorded under the now-familiar Mind over MIDI moniker arrived in the early '90s. He's released scores of highly regarded and stylistically uncompromising sounds over the years, appearing on labels including Silent Seasons, Diametric, Hibernate, Whitelabrecs, ROHS! Lontano Series, Shimmering Moods Records, Slow Tones Collages and via his own Berserk Fabrik.

His music can be described as sounds for daydreamers and nighthinkers. Inspired by the icy winds, snowy vistas and frozen landscapes in Norway.

If you can picture the very furthest, coldest, darkest part of Norway, that's where Mind over MIDI resides. If you want to get an idea of what it's like there, and can do without the frostbite, then this is the perfect solution.

Toner was first introduced to underground music while studying abroad in Taiwan, where he was awakened by modern techno.

After returning to Japan, he became captivated by Tokyo’s club and rave scene, and naturally progressed to become involved with numerous events as both a supporter and music journalist.

Together with Toss and Kaana, he now runs "LIMINAL DREAMS”. A community of enthusiasts, deeply focused on electronic, ambient and experimental music. "LIMINAL DREAMS" pays homage to the psychedelic chill-out culture that has been prevalent since the 60’s.

“Recently, I had the opportunity to be surrounded by the beautiful port city of Keelung, Taiwan. It was a very calming and tranquil experience.

During this time, I reflected on a variety of musical experiences in recent years, to explore various sounds for this mix. I wanted to capture the beauty and tranquility of an outdoor music festival and combine it with the beauty of an intimate smoky venue.

I often find beauty in the ephemeral and feel a strong connection between music and the natural world. I hope you can enjoy this mix as a session that transcends time and space between great musicians.

Micaela Casella aka E L A is an Argentine DJ based in Milan. E L A began her musical career as a DJ in 2011 in Córdoba. Returning to her native Buenos Aires a few years later gave her the opportunity to get more deeply involved with her beloved Techno through the “Arjaus” School of Electronic Music.

E L A captures ambient soundscapes and subtle rhythms full of surprising changes. The psychedelic nuances of her selection constantly create innovative atmospheres. Her hypnotic sounds, alluring rhythms and timely transitions define her.
