"What truly inspired me? Just the chance to play at Temple… and the fact that it happened to be my dear friend Josephine’s birthday. That alone made it feel really special. I knew that with such a meaningful occasion, a sold-out night was guaranteed—so I had to show up fully, mostly for myself.

Then, when you told me I’d be closing, and that you were feeling downtempo vibes… a whole universe of possibilities opened up. I started thinking about tracks I hadn’t played anywhere else before.

With this kind of set, I always try to open things up stylistically—because the moment asks for it."

ENA (@ena-iai) is a music producer from and based in Tokyo. He is a major player in the Japanese underground dance music scene for more than a decade. Taking influences from early drum & bass productions, rave sound and abstract hip hop, ENA is recognized for his tight production techniques and massive audio dynamics. Uncompromising, forward thinking and unique, his releases on 7even Recordings, Horo and Latency brought international attention and have led to collaborations with like-minded virtuosos such as Felix K and Rashad Becker which were both invited to perform on the main stage of Berlin Atonal festival (in 2016 and 2017 respectively.) As a DJ, he has been playing regularly in the main clubs in Tokyo such as Unit, Contact, WWW and Club Asia as well as underground haunts like Forestlimit and Soup for many years. His expert music selection and technical excellence continues to impress the audience in and outside of Japan. Having toured Asia and Europe numerous times and appearing in wide range of prominent international festivals such as Berlin Atonal, rural, Fibre, Mapping and Sun and Bass in the past few years, he is establishing himself as a singular performer fitted to deliver a primetime rave set to a gritty basement fix to abstracted sonic experiments.

Mostra (@mostrabcn) is an independent, small-format festival of avant-garde and experimental electronic music which emerged by the end of 2021 as a counterpoint to the macro-festivals and the overcrowded, commercial and impersonal offerings of other large events held in Barcelona. Mostra will be celebrating its fourth edition from 17 to 20 April in 2025.

Jaime Romero aka Estrato Aurora (@lovebas) is also the half of Pajaro Dune project (with David Ortolá). He has been an integral part of Valencia's underground music scene. Jaime as a Dj and producer has more than 2 decades in the studio working with analogic machines and a whole kind of stuff. He defines himself as an Atmospheric music worker. His line on the last years has leaded to publish on known labels such as: Alpenglühen, Bliq Rec, Appian Sounds, On Board, Dial Rec. Discos Pandémicos, HC Records or Danza Nativa.

This set was recorded during Pepa's birthday! We’re taking the opportunity here at HOC Radio to wish her a happy birthday. From here, these airs that appear throughout the set, Sevillian and Flamenco, also as a dedication to the entire region.

The long-awaited 55th episode of the kkum Podcast returns with a 57-minute ambient DJ set from HVL, based in Tbilisi, Georgia.

First coming to attention as a member of Okinawa Lifestyle duo in 2009, Bassiani/Horoom resident Gigi Jikia a.k.a HVL has become a leading voice of thriving techno movement centered around Tbilisi club scene. Since starting solo career in 2013, HVL was busy exploring more diverse range of genres and styles. His solo releases which have appeared on underground outposts like Bassiani Records, Rough House Rosie, Tabernacle Records and Organic Analogue, have testified to taste that’s also reflected in his Live performances and DJ sets.
The outstanding debut Ostati LP on Organic Analogue Records (2018), intended as a manuscript of the sound of Tbilisi, is a seductive update on the established HVL’s dynamics, centered on outboard house and techno with a noticeably understated mood.
As HVL’s reputation as a solo artist grows, so does his status as a selector and DJ. Jikia has taken his skillfully crafted Live shows and DJ sets to new heights in 2018, hitting up some of the best dancefloors in the world from Berghain and Hï Ibiza to infamous Berlin Atonal.

The internet gave us wild ways to connect, but it still can’t beat the real thing - meeting people in real life. A few months ago, we found ourselves in our beloved Barn deep in the Catskills, surrounded by trees, friends, and a four-day blur of heavy tunes and strange magic. That’s where we met Verena, aka Ena B. We connected through mutual friends and a shared pull toward deeper, dubbier, stranger sounds, and just like that, a new link was made.

Her “Delayed with…” mix is a slow-burner in the best way. It moves with intention, breaky, heady, and atmospheric, full of space and subtle pressure. There’s a patience to her selections, a confidence in the flow. Ena B may be new to the fold, but she speaks the language fluently. Expect more transmissions soon.

There’s a rhythm to how the festival unfolds. Thursday opens slowly, almost like a breath in. By Friday night, the pulse is stronger, but not too heavy. Monument festival had settled into its rhythm, and Kia and Polygonia stepped into the wooden dj-booth together.

The forest floor was vibrating, the crowd fully present. Their set matched the moment—playful, warm, and alive. It felt like Friday was always meant to sound like this. Varden became their playground.

This was more than a strong back-to-back. Two years earlier, they met here, both playing solo, both part of the Monument line-up for the first time. This night marked an anniversary of their friendship. From solo artists to close friends, now creating something special together.

Amsterdam’s Ratherlost crew has spent the past few years perfecting the art of the marathon rave. Their home base is Lofi, a cavernous warehouse where sound, light, and visuals fuse into long-haul journeys that stretch well past the 18-hour mark. But epic runtimes mean nothing without the right hands at the controls, and Ratherlost has proven it knows how to curate, pace, and execute like pros.

Lofi’s two-floor setup allows for shifting moods: daylight hours wander through deep, dubby techno, slowly morphing into faster, syncopated rhythms as night tightens its grip. Pacing is everything in a space like this. And when it comes to the craft of pacing, few do it better than Bas Dobbelaer.

Bas is one of our favorite DJs for a reason. He understands that a warm-up set is an architecture rather than just background noise. It shapes the room, sets the tone, and welcomes dancers into the story. The mix we’re thrilled to share today was recorded live at Ratherlost’s Easter Sunday session at Lofi, where Bas shared the bill with artists like Aaron J, Na Nich & Vera Logdanidi, Aurora Halal, DVS1, upsammy, Occa, Agonis, Dasha Rush, Seb H, and Oscar Mulero. Quite the roster.

In the face of that stacked lineup, Bas delivered a masterclass in restraint and elegance. His three-hour set unfolds like a novel, tracing dub techno’s DNA across the past two decades. The vibe is timeless, spacious, and beautifully measured, a perfect example of how to warm up a warehouse without blowing the doors off too soon.
This is precisely the kind of DJing we live for: subtle yet commanding, hypnotic yet full of life. Clear your next 180 minutes. Plug in. And get a little Ratherlost yourself.
