This Shell is a simple yet fantastic idea! When will it be out?

It's all down to the quality of your samples. If they are any good, this is the thing to tweak them to even better. Nice outside-the-box idea, HS.

Great idea! It was just what I'm going to need in Kontakt for using some old samples I made years and years ago (on hardware sampler) and some new ones I want to make from an old expander that I rarely turn on just for a couple of sounds..

Composed and produced for the KVR One Synth Challenge 159, Surge XT.

26 instances of Surge, with all effects in the Surge patches. 

Cakewalk DAW processing:
- Gain on buses, for mixing.
- EQ on final bus: High pass, low pass, small bump at 3kHz.
No compression, etc.

**Surge Storm** is an exploration of sound design in physical instruments and sounds. These are all my own patches, some of which are included in Surge. Most of the physical instruments here mimic generation and body resonances researched from real instruments, driven by controllers for mechanical setup and playing actions. This gives me a dynamic instrument that responds in a variety of articulations and styles, without needing samples.

Here, I've used a few time signatures. It has a wide dynamic range and frequency coverage, so you'll get the most from ideal listening conditions. Unfortunately, the thunder sound has lost a lot of its character here in the lo-fi Soundcloud playback. The download will give you the best experience.

Started by recreating the "Sub Phatty Girth" patch as close as I could in a short time. It's close, but not there yet.

Then, walked through every patch. Playing blows, but the point is to hear the patches and let them speak for themselves.

A quick audio demo I did of my new GUI SHELL Kontakt 4.2.4 instrument. 

It's an odd one in that it's designed as a tool for people to use with their own samples... an empty shell. 

That said it comes with five basic samples of simple waveforms as starting points which were used to create this quick audio demo - nothing else involved.
