Three bass-heavy house tracks round out this release in a classic UK meets NYC fashion. 

For the third release in our Public Housin series we bring you Texas based DJ Corcovado. We featured him first time on the label around a year ago, on first Bass+Bonez compilation. Dirtiy hip-hop influence his music, and this is something we can appreciate here at Top Billin HQ. 

"Do Anything" ft. Arms&Suites is a jacking ode to R'n'B with cut up vocals and upfront percussion that is sure to work on any dancefloor. "It's Not Over" is a more subdued number with thick UK garage style pads and more of Corcovado's cut up vocals, this track is made for the early morning sets! "Just Another Freak" ft. Pequeno Baile rounds out the EP with classy filtered vocals and a driving soulful pianos that brings back memories of many 90's house classics.

It is a real pleasure to welcome this talented producer to the Public Housin series. Enjoy this great EP.

After two volumes respectively dedicated to Europe’s finest talents and to unexpected team-ups, the Parisian label Sound Pellegrino returns with a third compilation album focused on function & combinability. 13 new tracks.

« SND.PE VOL.03: Raw Club Material » is a collection of brand new tracks commissioned Sound Pellegrino's curators TEKI LATEX and ORGASMIC focusing mainly on functional club use. 

Granted, Sound Pellegrino was always fascinated by pieces of music used as building blocks inside of a DJ set in a club context, but functional club use doesn’t mean the tracks don’t stand on their own. They also form a cohesive ensemble, evoking visions of architecture, minerals and metal that were always integral to the label’s aesthetics. 

Brutal and candid, stripped-down and textured, all conveying to a vague and limitless idea of “Techno”, they paint the most faithful picture of what Teki & Orgasmic's dj sets sound like in 2014.

Once again thanks to a worldwide network of fresh talents hailing from Houston to Tokyo, from Berlin to New York City, Glasgow to Paris, London to Chicago, SND.PE VOL.03 is our most straightforward album release, proving that Sound Pellegrino is first and foremostly a label dedicated to deejays.

It also boasts a fair share of mysterious artists such as Chicago's controversial figure RATCHETT TRAXXX, as well as the hyperbolically anonymous outfit TRACK ID and newcomer DEKE SOTO, who both did their debut on the label’s most recent vinyl releases.

The label's boiling core is also there, with JOE HOWE & MATTHIAS ZIMMERMANN teaming up for one heartbreaking number, young French recruit K-LAGANE, Sound Pellegrino visual director NICOLAS MALINOWSKY and Tokyo's CRYSTAL all donning their contribution. Strasbourg collective FRIENDSHIP also provide their debut track, a Teki and Orgasmic favorite announcing further collaborations with the label.

Exploring the common genetic traits of Grime and Techno, the new generation of UK producers such as TOYC and RUSHMORE, their US counterpart RABIT as well as the transatlantic team up of Renaissance Man & Physical Therapy under the moniker LOW CONCEPT leave an important and influential stylistic impression on the compilation.

Finally, KOYOTE (Mixpak) closes the album with a bewildering example of auteur house placing him without a doubt in the ranks of the most creative club acts today.

As Sound Pellegrino is about to celebration its fifth anniversary, the fact that it’s their third compilation album of fresh material released in the last 12 months is a good indication of the label’s determination to reinforce and transcend the high hopes it provoked recently.

@DemiRiquisimo is returning to his in-house imprint, Semi Delicious, with his second EP and ready to pick up where he left off with the aptly titled ‘Mysterious EP’, dropping today (3rd May 2019). The only vinyl release imprint saw his first EP lock in huge support from names like Optimo, Rex The Dog, Horse Meat Disco, Theo Kottis, Skream, Loods, Auntie Flo, Simian Mobile Disco and Tensnake, and even a coveted premiere on BBC Radio 1 by Pete Tong himself, while this one did not fail to get the attention of the infamous BBC1 “Danny Howard” claiming that he knew little about Demi but quite literally he would have played all the four tracks after receiving this EP in his inbox.

Opening with Pa De Chevaux, the chugging Bootsy Collins-style topline bass works in harmony with the vocal sample to create something so deliciously funky that you’ll still be moving long after the track ends. Fans of A Lifetime On The Hips are in for a treat on A2 as Certified revives the former’s stomping 4/4 kick and delivers one of the naughtiest modulated acid-arp basslines to ever grace the dancefloor. Enter lush chords, dreamy vocal sampling and wonderfully pacey hi-hats, and you’ve got one of the EP’s strongest tracks.

On the B-side, the quality doesn’t let up and you’re reminded that each track could easily be the lead. The title track, Mysterious, is a clear follow-up to Sarong Song with the perfect combination of acid basslines, 808 kicks and an array of live strings, organs, and horns mixed in to pack plenty of punch. Tagine Machine leads with an afro-centric percussive intro before delving into the depths of tough, synth-laden electro-disco. Inspired by a trip to Morocco and the sights and sounds that the souks of Marrakesh are filled with, Tagine Machine reflects the breadth of Demi’s musical inspiration. Bringing together elements of acid, disco, house and everything in-between, Demi Riquísimo once again demonstrates why he’s quickly becoming one of the most exciting talents on the scene.

Gaarden are an international (read: Russian & Estonian) Dream Punk band founded in 2018. 

After a dramatic loss of friend and former band member Yareek (r.i.p.) the band were inspired to create, in memoriam, their interpretation of the shoegaze, dreampop, and post punk sound they'd heard in years past.

Méi Jùn Bìng 霉菌病 (Mycosis in English) is a synth-punk project made by Ben Le Millionaire (French based in Wuhan, China) combining elements of dark wave and synthwave with the energy of punk music. Meijunbing is influenced by music genres such as Punk, Synthpunk, Neue Deutsche Welle, Post-punk and Old-School Industrial.

FLESHWORLD​, the third solo EP from prolific Washington D.C., now Cologne-based composer-producer SWAN MEAT, is the culmination of years’ worth of work at perfecting a sound that draws from a wellspring of disparate sources & genres, shaping that fleshy amalgam into a monster both terrifying and lush. Her dedication to and love of maximalism is full-throttle, here, and each track on the five-track collection contains -- as is the artist’s signature -- an explosion of ideas, which move seamlessly in & out of each other, oscillating. Breakbeats, harpsichord arpeggios, and distorted, 8-bit kickdrums move in disjunctive harmony with string arrangements even more soaring than those on her 2nd solo release, ​TAME​; tracks like “MECHANICAL BULLGIRL” pay weird tribute to old Western soundtracks while sounding as though they could just as well be played through the loudspeakers on a demented, abandoned theme park. “SUCKLING,” pairs a funk bass with a string arrangement that pays
tongue-firmly-in-cheek homage to Hans Zimmer & cohort; “DENTISTS TOYS...” & “LITERALLY SEETHING” are shameless tributes to anime & old Sega OSTs; “EUGENIA MARIONETTE,” named after the troubled emo Youtube star, is, perhaps, the centerpiece of it all: a punk whorl of Y2K-core drum & bass riffs, heartbreaking vocaloid samples, and the words, whispered softly before a drop: ​ something needs to change.

Change is, indeed, in the air: rejecting what she sees as a club scene scarred by its allegiance to technocapitalism, the fashion industry, and an elitist obsession with the fine arts, SWAN MEAT produces music that seeks to be good, great -- most importantly fun -- on its own terms, and revels in the joy(s) of fastidious micro editing, sound design, and being up ‘til 4 am on energy drinks, dying and being actually more alive than ever at the same time.

Originally released in 1980 by the UK band Ski Patrol, "Agent Orange" has taken on new flesh, as Vision Video projects the song (originally about the Vietnam conflict) into modernity. The song is in outright protest of the current state of America and it's regime, with it's obvious connotations. The song maintains it's original post-punk escalation, but with a new darker veneer.
