This is a song about trips with our mother to the place she loved best in the world, how it lifted our young spirits, how we took her back there when she passed, and how our spirits continue to be lifted and inspired by her memory.

This is a song that I wrote about heartbreak after a relationship breaks up, particularly about the heartbreak that often follows a divorce.

This is a country song about a man enduring condescension and a proud woman's contumely while remaining true to himself.  It is a song about character and the heart ache that sometimes goes along with having to live in a way that is consistent with the requirements that real character imposes

This is the song about how tired my mind guess I’m trying to constantly reason my way through life. It’s my own fault because I studied to be a lawyer.
