Meditative Music in Isphahan

in this album, I have performed seven pieces of Ahmad Ebâdi’s best improvisations which were notated by me in a book entitled ‘Shahnavâz : Ahmad Ebâdi’s Improvisations’, published by Mahoor Institute of Culture and Arts in 2000. It has always been believed that the Persian Dastgâhi music cannot be precisely notated and it is hard and even impossible to be performed based on notation. The pieces here have been played exactly as notated in the aforementioned book and the writer believes that Persian music, just like any other music from all over the world, can be notated although there may be some weaknesses and deficiencies in its note-playing and performance principles. In this album, I have attempted to perform all the details and subtleties just as they were notated in the book.

پاییز شده است و برگریزان درخت است و در این میانه برگی از درخت می‌افتد، اما همزمان بادی سخت می‌وزد و برگ را به هوا می‌برد، اما باز این برگ است که قصد فرود آمدن دارد و بادی دیگر وی را به آنسو‌تر می‌برد.

این بازی، وزش باد و رقص برگ الهام بخش قطعه خزان استاد مشکاتیان است‌، قطعه‌ای که با نگاهی به یکی از ملودی‌های محلی خراسانی (مقام الله) در دستگاه شور و آواز دشتی ساخته شده است و از معدود قطعات نسبتا بلند موسیقی ایرانی است (بیش از ۸ دقیقه) که با ساختاری متفاوت از نگاه متفاوت‌تر مشکاتیان به خزان حکایت می‌کند
